#Magic Victory Issues

I just completed a fun magic victory by turn 80 something in that fae realm of 7 rulers with a disdain for evil on hard, and I was the evil lich. I purposely choose where to build my magic artifacts so I can be in a better position to defend them.

Except, it turns out, vassals are quite useless. Armies would just walk through their land and they wouldn't even bother attacking them, even when their stacks were stronger (after I routed 6 of the 7 stacks, the 7th one walked by like he was on vacation, vassals didn't engage).

Another thing is that I purposely left a city undefended so I can stack my forces in the three key locations. One of the rulers sent massive stacks to the empty city only to...pillage the area by the empty fortified city. When he finally got around to sieging the city, he ended up retreating without taking it. What gives?

I gotta say though, it was super fun to see my soul economy hit a very small 8, and then end up around 300 after all the waves of enemies. I managed to summon in a bunch more tier 5 reapers as a result. I felt like Sandro from HOMM3 lol

I agree that vassals are useless in terms of war. They only give some resources and that's it. They will not fight or defend your territories. 😦

Have you tried in the diplomacy menu? Is there any option to ask them to declare war to X enemy, so that they start attacking (i.e. telling the AI "hey, please help"). I've seen Potato Mcwhisky having problems with this as well, i'm wondering if that is the problem, having to order them to attavk, kinda.
