I really thought there was going to be empire quests from the start. Even just a few of them, any ETA on when they will be in game.

In AOW3 there were like if you get a pure allignment you get a bonus like troops or spells. As well if you finish all your research first you get 2 special specializations. Since there is a lot here is the link of all of them.

This content is exclusive to the Golden Realms Expansion Empire Quests are global objectives, which reward the first player to fulfill the condition. Once taken, an Empire quest cannot be earned...

They've basically been replaced by the rites in empire development, I feel like

Can we get the remaining body/mind traits as researchable empire tech, paid with imperium? 😄 so instead of the initial 2... we could grab 3-4 more... maybe it will be overpowered but, hey! it will cost imperium so it's safe!

I'm a bit conflicted with empire quests. They kind of feel like win more mechanics.

Cool flavor, but give a bunch of units to the person who just got 100 units is a big steamrolly

I hope we get some of them back. Diplomacy with free cities feels a bit lackluster, for all its absolutely amazing looking leaders

I would much prefer Racial Governance over Empire Quests.

In AoW 4's case, it would likely be "Cultural Governance," of course, but might be a nice way to give additional incentive to using Cultural units in mid-late game over Tome units, if someone focuses on them. Perhaps even an option for a Cultural Tier 4 unit, with the choice being opposite a selection for a Cultural structure.

A Cultural Tier 4 unit would not be an automatic choice, due to access to a variety of Tome Tier 4 units already, and a Culture structure (probably) not costing upkeep...
Of course, a Cultural structure isn't the obvious choice, either, due to the lower number of cities in play meaning it's not a simple economy spam, and you would be more likely to pick it when either the Cultural Tier 4 unit doesn't suit your strategy, or whatever bonus the building might provide, does.

Alternately, expanding it into a mix of bonuses from your chosen Culture and Society traits, with the latter being an option from each selected Society:
Lvl 1: Culture Bonus 1
Lvl 2: Society Bonus 1
Lvl 3: Culture Bonus 2
Lvl 4: Society Bonus 2
Lvl 5: Cultural Bonus 3 (i.e. the 'capstone' selection, with the most significant effect, that could even provide a T4 unit or special structure)

Why not both.
