#Pathfinding Is Weird

Part of why I'm posting it here is because the game itself is incredibly vague and unhelpful, so I can't figure out whether it's correct or not.

I have the Frostling Transformation, which gives Artic Walk, which says "Moving through Snow and Ice terrain costs fewer movement points.", which is very unhelpful already. How many fewer?

But it's this screenshot right here that baffles me. Frozen Waste (what the pathfinder is preferring) has a base MP cost of 6, and so does the Snow that's under the road everywhere. So perhaps the road isn't taken into account properly, and it doesn't follow it. That's one thing. But I'm located one hex above the road already, so why aren't we dodging it the entire way?

dont have a "move faster in own terrain" thingie going?

Yeah, but how is that "own terrain" ever faster than "own terrain AND roads"?

Okay, I have figured it out. On Snow, which Artic Walk proclaims to accelerate, I pay 5 MP/square, road or not.

On the Frozen Waste, I instead pay 3/square. Since both give a 6 MP cost on hover, I can only assume that I'm not getting a discount on Snow at all.

#

Note, non-Artic Walk units actually pay 3 MP for Snow Road squares, so not only am I not getting my Snow discount, it actively interferes with the function of roads on snow.

That said, inside my own domain, for Artic Walk units, all snow only costs 3 MP. So perhaps Artic Walk only works in my domain, without mentioning that anywhere?

And 4 MP for non-artic walk units on snow in my own domain. At this point, I can only assume it is because I hadn't seen that number before yet.
