Hey, can you keep hero Resurgence as a separate option from difficulty in campaigns?

I find heros more fun when I can use them like Queens in chess, and the AoW 3 default made them feel more like Kings.

Yeah I always kept my heroes in the back out of the way of conflict in the AoW 3 Campaigns because of that.

If the mission ever said 'keep them alive!' I just didn't use them

I'm playing through AoW3's campaign, and resurgance is on by default, at least on Normal. It's in custom games and multiplayer where it's default-off.

I do prefer hero resurgence as it doesn't feel heroic or impressive to always engineer things so others die in your place whenever you might be in danger. It also helped make melee focused heroes more viable in AoW3, which they needed, and having the hero still on the table to play for if they did go down helped people avoid getting tilted and making further misplays.

Planetfall, meanwhile, did in fact have resurgance as an option that could be picked seperate from difficulty before starting story missions, so its a good bet that AoW4 will also have it.

It was off only on Hard difficulty in 3.

And honestly, if you pick Hard, I think you shouldn't be allowed to grab free Resurgence.

It sounds like resurrection has been somewhat overhauled in AoW4 with the new Crypt features.

They mentioned holding the bones of heroes hostage, and choosing to sell them off if you don't want to resurrect them yourself. Which sounds really cool.

IDK how balanced that will be ..... but I am really excited to find out!
