There's no way to see anything, no way to make out any terrain.

It is frustrating, pointless, and unenjoyable.

kind plaza
#

I agree that it is a singularly unfun puzzle.

round quest
#

I got it through elimination of possibilities and the use of centripital acceleration. ac=v2r

#

It's good to see that this game is still inaccessible to non autistic people.

gusty bramble
#

is that with the metal spikes under ? i got traped in there. coudnt get out , no mater my atempts

hasty tangle
#

well back in the WA days, those spike would kill you with one touch! So at least they arn't so deathly. But yea seriously, make some glow sticks and throw them in, I always carry a bunch when splunking

worn crescent
#

Also put you stuff into a storage container or something before you dive in

fiery fiber
#

I can help you solve that in under 5 minutes if u want to

haughty bone
#

yep the glow sticks are better than the belt lamp you can craft later...it doesnt even give much light rigth now 😛

@fiery fiber tell me more

Oof yeah, that puzzle took me a bit. It's a Spider-Man skills test.

#

You have to combine reeling in, swinging, timing, and boosting.

#

The pylons on the side of a cliff are there too...

upbeat mica
#

my issue i dont really know what im supposed to be doing

peak inlet
#

Oh. Empty your backpack, and go down the hole. That beam can be grappled, you swing under it and TRY to get the momentum to make it over the next wall.

#

It's not nearly as deadly as the WA version.

#

Swinging isn't enough, reeling is a little, and a boost is needed

#

It is hard.

upbeat mica
#

yeah but what do i need to do

#

like, objectives-wise

#

just get as high as possible?

peak inlet
#

Get over the far wall, and slide to chests. Mind the turrets, I think those were there.

wide forge
#

There's a ledge on the other side. Here's a clip from the same island during the demo, when it wasn't so dark

upbeat mica
#

huh, i havent even made it up that far yet

oh oops

Anti grapple puzzle rooms are a thing

#

It would be boring if you could just cheese every movement puzzle really

#

Of course, I did that in WA when there was a trio of poorly designed exit holes.

upbeat mica
#

thise one also has a bugged entrance

peak inlet
#

Are there a bunch of wall platforms?

peak inlet
#

Not the swinging one then

#

You enter that jumping down into a hole

#

They should all be possible, there's a bit more drag than I care for though

upbeat mica
#

im looking at it in the map editor now

#

lol

#

no idea how to do it it's like 99% anti-grapple

#

its a jumping puzzle actually i think

dark aspen
#

yeah im kinda stuck in this puzzle with the 99% anti grapple

upbeat mica
#

@somber scarab please explain your puzzle to us xd

It's just an exit though

dark aspen
#

is there an entrance at the top? i found a door but not one that can be opened, other than the door at the bottom

you wanna bring some light tho, there are some levelers that are hard to see without light

upbeat mica
#

Awesome

dark aspen
#

this is evil

upbeat mica
#

very impressive

#

(I think it's the spire not the spine though)

white ginkgo

build a smol ship, fly up. That's what we ended up doing after over 2hrs ;w;

I beat the spine by cheesing it via a ground based campfire stove to grapple off of and moving said stove to the next highest platform I could reach

somber scarab
#

The spine is outdated... i should update it someday

#

I'm happy to see that my hatred for jumping puzzles lives on in you players

I imagine the EA date announcement caught a lot of early island creators by surprise (or at least the workshop comments from this week). I think if Eternz hadn't put the Spine literally across from the tutorial island, it probably wouldn't have created as much of a "passionate" response. It's really gorgeous though, has a striking silhouette, and is pretty friendly to explore on the outside, so I can't blame him.
