Ran some numbers with the the free pulls and rebate events:

• 21 Daily for each banner.
• First rebate gives back 10 pulls after pulling 40 times on either banner.

So if you use 40 tickets + 21 free pulls, that's 61 pulls per banner, but at an effective cost of 30 tickets (21 are free, 10 are given back)

The overall chance of obtaining at least one of the 2 banners with a 61/61 split is 70.2%, and there is a 22% chance you get both with the combined 122 pulls.

This means if you only use 40 tickets + the dailies per banner, this is effectively a pseudo-2% banner cost-wise, but ONLY if you stop at freebies + 4 multis. Hitting one of them can save you 200 gold tickets, so at 70% odds, worth it.

TLDR:
Most efficient way to pull:

• Use all the 21 free pulls for each banner
• Use 4 multis for each banner
• Collect the 10-pull rebate and dont use it (save for collab)
• If no Mermaid / Mihara within this amount of pulls, pity

This makes it so the 1% rate is not a complete trap. Just dont go full sunk cost fallacy and think "I already did 61, she's sure to come soon", because each pull is a separate instance, your odds don't increase and it isnt worth it on a 1%.
