I think it should be a simple press of movement keys to navigate rather than holding down the button to navigate as it seems far more tedious.
And honestly more people would appreciate simply pressing to navigate

If you're on controller, try using the other joystick, that might be what you're looking for ?

i agree with the OP, this is what i requested as well. Joystick works but a snappy quick button press to move between nodes would be very nice to have!
