#Vive wireless adapter consistently crashes

I have a wireless adapter for my original vive, at completely random times it will suddenly blue screen and crash the game I'm in, forcing a restart. this pretty much ruins the usability of the device... I tried going through support but it seems like they dont know how to help. They want me to send in the adapter for inspection, but the adapter doesn't seem to be the problem... I think it's the vive wireless software; The crash only happens in game, never in the steamvr menu while idle.. Is there anything that can be done? Or do I just have to give up on wireless?

There's a thing you could try. Go to your Vive Wireless software folder, like
C:\Program Files\VIVE Wireless\ConnectionUtility

and find a tool named PCIeGenConfig.exe

run it, there will be a button that says "Enable". Press it and restart Vive Wireless utility
