my morning starts with a piercing alarm,
reminding me of the cycle I have to endure
the smell of ozone and pencil shavings
the screech of chair legs
polished hallways act as mirrors
reflecting only a silhouette
that thins out every year
a rough draft of a person
with the edges rubbed raw
fluorescent lights bleach my ideas
turning every vibrant thought
to a blur
sitting alone in my room
staring at my shadow
waiting for the sun to rise
so it can start again.

I like the use of blankness or wasting away that you've introduced here (ozone, rough draft , blur), and how you juxtapose the dark (silhouette, shadow) of the speaker with the, sometimes offensive, brightness of the environment (bleach, thins out, mirrors).
I wonder how much of this you could get away with omitting while maintaining the meaning
