This poem's title is unique, in a surreal way. It makes me think of a queue that is intended. And that is like the premise of the poem, it does hit like a lightning strike.
The anticipation, and then "Thanatophore". Though this poem has quite a medievalish vibe. May I ask why you asked, "Is this worth it?"
I suppose that that is how the anticipation seems as well, in that perspective
I see this is part of a series. I'd love to see more to where this goes
