A slight way I can show my emotions
Because I know they're hiding down below
Shove it into words
To make sure they never show
Maybe I can't control it
But who's gonna care
Its a flaw
They're all just gonna stare
So I push it down and make it stay
Don't let it out, make it stray
No one can see that your brain is different
Or they will push you away
So when you feel an emotion
Replace it with rage
Think of the things
They make you wanna say
Replace the emotion
So that you never have to cry
Then when you go home
Shove the words into your notes
A poem is where it will go
Why should we let ourselves feel
When it looks so bad
Why should we let ourselves be human
When we can force ourselves to be "perfect" instead?
So when that emotion lumps up in your throat
And you think you're going to cry
Think of all the things that make you mad
And the sadness goes bye-bye
Into your brain to think
"What kind of poem could this be"
