I think the answer is quite clear—
My mom
She watched me grow up from the day she held me in her arms,
Now listening as I gossip about the people that caused me harm.
She’s criticized me,
teased me,
said the things a mother would say—
It gets repetitive,
sometimes even unfair.
Although, I can’t thank her enough for the pain she had to bear.
She’s hard on herself too.
She calls herself ugly, hideous and fat,
Which didn’t fit the description of the woman I knew.
So I told her, “such nonsense you spew”.
She doesn’t accept my claim,
but my opinion remains the same.
She was never only a mom to me.
She was my best friend,
My forever—
My “4lifer”.
She has always been there for me,
Stood there and cheered on for me.
So if you were to ask me what my biggest dream is—
It’s my mom,
My dream is to let her live a comfortable life,
To repay her for being my mom and a wife,
Seeing her suffer now feels like a jab to the chest.
Now I work and grind,
so she can finally rest.
