Time raced apace, like carts in hurried play;
I fled, thinking freedom near at hand.
Yet the reflection spake no more that day,
For I perceived ’twas naught but fantasy’s strand.
My body shook, trembling uncontrollably,
Loosing the ignited light of my fantasy.

Now mine own soul decays, knowing this story untold.
I hath the knowledge I've never sought to find,
The truths I feared now echo in my mind.
It opened my eyes—I was living an undeniable lie,
How came I not see it through, when it did not fight for the truth?
I never sought the truth—how could I know to defuse?
This unknown discomfort would not leave my side,
It took me for granted, as though I were always used,
A pawn in life’s cruel game, with nowhere to hide.
