My days turn night, my mornings fade,
afternoons hollow, the hours trade.
The galleries open, the faces parade,
masquerades rise while my own melts away.
I run, but my leg breaks,
I speak, but my voice forsakes.
And so I cough, a hollow prayer……
forsaken, sacred, thin as air.
