A father's bond, once sacred and strong
Supposed to guide his children, right from wrong
A role model, an inspiration to grow
But behind the scenes, a different story unfolds

Maybe he hunts, maybe he fishes, maybe he washes dishes too
But his protective force, a facade, slowly unwinds anew
Deep care turns to shallow shame, guilt trips and neglect
Brazen words from survivors, a family wrecked

He puts his wife above the kids, while he seeks fun and escape
A stepmom joins, with selfish motives, no care for the child's shape
She spends on herself, while the eldest daughter's left to bear
The weight of caring for the young, a childhood stolen, left to scar

The "perfect" family tree, with wilted branches, dry soil too
The seed that once was strong, now dead, cold, and cracked anew
Arguments and stress, a constant hum in the house
Children witness, dragged into fights, lying to protect, a heavy mouse

The eldest daughter, once a kid, forced to mother too soon
But she grows wings, and flies away from that awful, broken tune
Arguments arise, and she's left with no family to call her own
The father's surrendered his crown, to protect his daughter, now gone

What was once precious, now a burden to his home
No gratitude, no welcome back, just erased, left to roam
A family fractured, a bond broken, a legacy of pain
A father's love, lost in the shards, a memory in vain.

I was hoping to put anger, pain and exhaustion into this poem I'm really hoping I did
