The sky had split, the thunder screamed,
The world fell far from what it dreamed.
Yet in the mess the storm had made,
One flower stood, not bent, not swayed.
Rain stained the earth in shades of pain,
But there she was-untouched by rain.
A softness in the storm's cruel art,
A quiet bloom, a beating heart.
