There are points in my life
When I notice a
Change.
Like when I first came
Back from college
To discover
I no longer wore
Size 34
jeans.
I didn’t notice,
Because mine had stretched,
Grown,
Torn with me.
I went to the thrift store,
Because I was bored,
And to my surprise,
all 6 pairs
Were two sizes
Too
small.
I left the store quickly,
Not cause I felt
Fat.
I love my body,
Even still.
It wasn’t what had changed
But that it changed at all.
So now I buy size 36.
Which tastes of iron
On my tongue.
But I’m sure this taste,
Will soon grow rich,
Just like
My
Lucky 34.
