A simple bird soars through the sky
Frightened by predatory glances
Of hungry beasts waiting for feasts
To tear through feather and bone
On a victim in horror and alone
But this bird is smarter than the others
Knows how to swerve and hide with covers
Of colors and tones and screeches
Of recognition for who the leach is
And flies away once again
To find someone to be their friend

This poem captures both vulnerability and resilience beautifully. The bird’s awareness and ability to outmaneuver danger make it feel like a quiet triumph. The flow is smooth, and the ending leaves a hopeful note—seeking connection instead of just survival. Simple yet powerful.
