Up and up—and up—
what you bleed,
you can't breathe.

Up and up—and up—
'till Icarus falls,
accursed mountain.

They won't take
you to the top—
if you don't
get moving.

Down, up, left, right—
none matter
if you focus
your devious sight.

Up—and DOWN—
WAY, WAY DOWN.

RAGH!
WHAT DID YOU DO?!
TELL ME, ZEKE.

wow this is really amazing writing, really layered

#

what is this poem about?

#

for me it feels like burnout

#

like one's desire for greatness is so huge that their own ambition is the death of him, then self blaming starts. To me a great exploration of unchecked ambition

Oh! that's an interesting perspective of many; ||interestingly, it serves as a response to another poem I wrote today. It was quite brutal and made me think, 'Damn! Who hurt you?!'||
