These years without you I’ve grown a lot. I wish you were here to see it.
I’ve realized I’m an adult now and learned what that means to be it.
I think about you quite a bit and see you in the mirror.
The more I change into a woman the more our resemblance gets clearer.
So many times I’ve heard your words coming out of my own mouth,
and I think to myself “ok mom I see what you were talking about”
And it’s funny how no one understand these things until it’s much to too late.
IM sure any adult living life out there could read this and relate.
So I want to thank you for everything because I see the struggle now.
Like how you always kept the lights on and I never wondered how.
You did your best with what you had and honestly I think you did good.
And I’m sorry that it wasn’t til you were gone that I finally understood.
I love you mom, I hope you knew that and I wish I could tell you some way.
I’m sorry for the times I forgot to call to tell you
