i got my doll from the clearance section
a little patched up, limbs all ruptured
self-proclaimed recreant of my affections
too far gone to pay heed to any reason
deranged sellers ripped up my toy's back
claimed it was to find the price tag
she lay there, and bled with
neither a quake nor a cry,
she lay there and died right before my eyes
yes, my doll used to live in the clearance section
with other crippled young women and men
with failing hearts, flailing limbs and
no flutter of hope,
to this there was but one exception
my dolly grew as we neared the register
her gaze in ardour gave her character
death in pain, but not a death in vain
she was put to rest in her best nature
