#Dreams Lost in the Eternal Sky: The Beginning…

Vaulted beyond the iridescent sky lies a dream
and as I stand on these mortal grounds,
almost within reach
I see it—
protected behind the eternal lustre
lined across the auroras

I reach out my hand and feel what stands between us
I feel the wind blowing east
and seeing that the impermeable gale
has shifted away from my direction,
my vision grows clearer

I glance, once again, at the violet–painted sky
exploring with my eyes its acrylic strokes of blue and magenta—
sprawling across the heavens and blanketed upon
the mountains and the moors
standing each-to-each, the permanent peaks
of heathered highlands and snowy summits
almost shapeless at a distance...

Mountains where no man nor beast ever trod
seldom falcon or phoenix flew
surrounded by the misty traces of stone and fog
the timeless topography

And hastened upon these grassy mounds, I stand
shouting my name echoing skyward
the valleys return my call and
another wave of air brushes to my right
Leaves are swept before my feet
one by one, they all are crumpled and
turned gray

Here is where I can no longer stay
these grasslands have held me too long
and I will no longer be bound to this earthly footing
my spirit pulls me elsewhere—farther than
the sun can ever shine, a greater distance than
persistence alone can manage
a horizon behind the veil of that amethyst skyline
where my dream is eclipsed
beyond the celestial blue

I take a step and all at once I see
an eternity in a thousand constellations
…and only in one, my fate begins to crystallize
