I try to move on from you
I don't want to hold onto you
Can you please just get out of my head?
But you never leave me be
I never fully forgot you so
I wrote you this poem instead
Your skin was so dark like tea
Your eyes shined like the sea
on a warm bright summers day
Your voice spoke so lightly
Your hair flowed so elegantly
like the blossoming flowers of May
Your clothes pressed so soft and neat
Your waist was so small and sweet
when your body stood tall and spread
I try to move on from you
I don't want to hold onto you
Can you please just get out of my head?
My emotions changed like the tide
and I had an ugly side
My coldness froze like the snow
When you got upset at me
and your eyes started to flee
The scars I gave you finally showed
I tried to hold onto your hand
All my mistakes I tried to amend
But you insisted on letting me go
Now my heart is a lonely one
and what happened cannot be undone
I sleep lonely in what-used-to-be our bed
I try to move on from you
I don't want to hold onto you
Can you please just get out of my head?
