I guess I'm old enough now to know to be silent
I'm old enough to know not to make excuses
I know not to talk back

I guess I'm old enough to understand responsibility
I'm old enough to have a card
I can save for college

I guess I'm old enough to care about what they say
I'm old enough to change myself completely
Just so they would like me

I guess I'm old enough to hide my feelings
I'm old enough to wipe away the smudged mascara
Before anybody can see it

I've always wanted to be old enough
But now I am
And all I can think about is being younger

I wish I wasn't old enough to be silent
I don't like having responsibilities
I'm not ready for college
I hate listening to their input on my life
I hate crying all the time

But most of all,
With every bone in my body,
I hate myself, and how I'm finally old enough.
