I have this memory of you
Of tall titanic trees and crackling flames
Quiet laughter and broken bottles
Tracking a missing heart we failed to find whole
And yet we sought what was left of a mending bond
A comfortable silence broken by a hooting owl
Why must an owl hoot what must she say?
"You are something else." She smiles.
Or was that the owl? I seem to recollect.
A welcome burden on my shoulder. Tickling my neck.
If she were to drop dead here I think the world would too.
I feel ill when the owl stops hooting. A deadly silence.
A broken stick and a rustled leaves. A nose sniffened.
Sum of noise that ceased to speak. What now?
A mouse is squeeking. Why must he squeek?
The stars vanish when he says, "Sum, you're crying."
A glance to confirm and the heart is found.
An ocean of green to calm my storm.
At once a grin to welcome the hoot.
Of an owl once silent and now it laughs.
"I love you." And that's all she wrote. And it's enough.
I have this memory of you.

I like poems that tell a story

How sentimental this poem is!! I could picture the scene exactly and relate it to an experience of my own.
The critique I have is that there's a few grammatical inconsistencies, what with punctuation or lack thereof.
Other than that, I love it!!
