The sound of your voice is like the waves of the ocean,
Soothing as they lull me to sleep.
Your actions like the currents of the deep,
Always in constraint by pressure.
The way you appear is like the ocean,
Stunning and clear for a select few, but dark and foreboding to others.
Like the ocean you are ever changing,
But also ever present.
Like the ocean you are blindingly beautiful,
Yet still terrifying to some.
Like the ocean you appear strong,
But you evaporate from exposure to the glaring brightness of the sun.
Like the ocean you are the most beautiful when it's dark out,
Your gorgeous surface reflects the shining stars, making each little light your own.
I find myself like an angel fish.
Finding comfort in your loving embrace,
While still leaping out of your waters to catch the little bits of you that have been lost.
Yet like the angel fish I always return to you.
Like the ocean to the angel fish,
You are my home, my place of comfort and familiarity.
You, like the ocean, are both loved yet under appreciated.
Doubting yourself and weathering storms on your own.
But like the angel fish I stay with you.
Like the ocean you are essential for my survival,
For without you I’d dry out on land.
