I play on a server with like 16 or more players. I have seen maybe 1 or 2 boars in the whole time I been on server, playing for days. Deer, pigs, wolves, foxes, ya sure. But not boars. Hard leather is practically impossible to acquire in this game. I noticed too even playing smaller servers, going to supposed hotspots for boars is empty. I don't think turning on police siren is a solution. I mean if you can't increase the animals, then add Hard leather to loot tables at farms or something.
#Add more Hard leather to loot table or increase boar spawn rate.

I don't know how it works and I have only seen it once so maybe someone else can comment with details / further insight, but there is a drying rack in the game. I would assume you can use it to hang up dead animals to get leathers/pelts/furs? I would look more into it if you can, maybe this is a great way to get those leathers you are looking for 🙂

Iirc boarskins make for terrible leather however bovine skin makes decently thick leather.
Further to harden leather you boil it.

In addition things that require hard leather to repair/make should give hard leather when you scrap/dismantle them instead of the soft leather they give now.

Sorry my point was simply that with more players boars are immensely scarce even running through forests and stuff. Seen many vids on how to attract them, but even with police siren on it does zip... this is a dead end type situation. If you can't get hard leather you can't repair lots of items. Or make them. On my own server, has less players still pretty rare to see a boar... but i have found hard leather in shelves and crates... just not very much... It's like winning a lottery to see a boar at this stage with many players.. Can you imagine on server that allow 100 players. LOL! You might not even see an animal. On other server I was lucky to kill 2 boars.. so i had like 20 hard leather which i managed to fix my combat pack and stuff.. thankfully.
