Is it possible to add a mechanic where players who die from zombies or are heavily scarred would turn into AI-controlled zombies, without taking control of them? This could make the world feel more realistic and persistent while keeping gameplay fair for surviving players?

Not exactly. The player doesn’t control the zombie. After dying from a bite or infection, the body becomes an AI zombie. It acts like a normal zombie but with some traits from the players last actions or location. It adds tension and realism without giving control to the dead player

i think it would be a neat idea to live in the corpse and be unable to do anything as a <thing> tho lol

I was on a mp server and I was bit so I drove to another players base in a box truck and locked myself in the back and died/turned. they opend it to see my zombie body 😄

where you can just sort of partially aimlessly walk with it
maybe it has night vision! 🙂
