On several occasions, I've posted about horribly slow patching via Steam. The devs have responded and said it's not in their control, they are beholden to Steam for the patching. I did some research, and Steam client does do the patching for games they provide via vendors.

I'm curious how many others are seeing this slow patching? It's only happening for Vein. Example, I patched Icarus, 7DTD, and Enshrouded, with NO slow patching issues. The download completed, and I was patched within 10 minutes tops.

Vein...it ALWAYS takes over 30 minutes. Anyone else?

I've ensure my Win11 was patched, NVidia drivers patched, Steam client patched. I've cleared my download cache in Steam, restarted everything...still this slow junk. I'm running an SSD which is about 3/4 full. I've reported this to Steam this morning, along with a screenshot I'm showing here as an example. I understand that this is NOT a Vein issue, but I'm curious to see how many others are having these patching issues. If so, have you reported it to Steam?

I get the same with Vein as I do with Squad when it comes to updates

STALKER 2 as well; even on my faster nvme dedicated for games, it'll take between 15-30mins

The download is fast, but the actual patching is really slow

All of these are UE engine games if that's of any relevance?

No point in reporting it to Steam, it's just how UE packages the games

I can try and take a look into it but last time I've discussed this with Kyle, we pretty much already do what we can to help

And again, this is not directed at any of devs or anything. Just trying to help and point out issues. I love the game and am dying for the next interations to take it farther. DUCT TAPE!!
