dev just fixed this should be sorted next patch #vein-feedback-experimental message
I'm still facing this issue. Is the next patch later?
yes they said they did controller testing in the last hotfix so it should be fixed in the next hotfix keep an eye on #experimental-branch
Yea, I saw that they said it was fixed. Are you sure it's the same issue though? Because there was an update to the game an hour after the dev made the comment you linked to. Also, the issue that was responded to there isn't the same issue reported in this bug report by the sounds of it. The game window is not capturing the cursor now, making it very hard to play with multiple monitors
go to device manager and doube check if u have a controller driver
I'm not using a controller, I'm using a mouse
yes.. but if u have any controller or joystick drivers installed they could be causing conflicts
I have no controller devices in my device manager. It's new behaviour introduced between 2am GMT and 1pm GMT today; I didn't have any issues last night
do the usual to make sure its not ur pc then
verify game files - update graphics and system drivers - restart pc
if that doesnt solve it record and replicate the issue so the devs have a video to troubleshoot
In other words, it's unknown what is causing this, so go do some busy work to ensure everything is up-to-date...then come back if it's still broke
yes as it may be a hardware issue .. as i very much doubt the game,,, is causing your mouse to go off the game and onto the other moniter XD
if it is the game its most likley the thing the dev said they fixed for the next hotfix
Oh, but the code is impeccable...lol...come on, give us a break. The guy reported an issue, and typical nonsensical response
No, the game isn't causing the cursor to leave the monitor, it is just not capturing the cursor like it should. The problem persists regardless as to which window mode you use, whereas in most games you'd mostly only really see this issue in perhaps one or two of the three modes
For the record, I have verified my game files. I did that before joining the Discord
alt - tab out and back in again
I have tried that too
imma go try replicate this
Just throwing out my $.02
I am having this problem, too. 5,000 years ago there were games that would do this if my Xbox 360 controller receiver was connected. Disconnecting it always resolved the issue. I have an Xbox Elite Series controller, now, and this is the first game to produce this very old problem. In rare instances, you can get around it by forcing the game to Full Screen.
I've taken a variety of steps, such as alt-tabbing, disabling my alternative monitors, using Window's "digital signage" feature to ignore the secondary monitor, full screen, full screen windowed, windowed, changing resolutions, etc.
Disconnecting my Xbox Controller receiver DOES work, however, this is a game issue because the game is not properly determining what device is being used - especially if the controller itself is in an OFF state.
I did have a wireless receiver I that I used to use with my steam controller, but unplugging that had no effect for me
Just an aside...something to consider that was touched on...I have the game settings set to open in FULL SCREEN mode. Lately, the game randomly starts in a windowed version until I dismiss the latest announcement from the devs on the welcome screen. May be a nothing burger, but this was the first time this windowing issue was brought up along with controllers/mice issues...
More details for the issue too - clicking back into the game sometimes fixes the issue... until you open up any element of the UI that involves a cursor, at which point the game will stop capturing the cursor and it can leave the window/monitor the game is on again.
I believe this bug was actually caused by the patch that Stella mentioned at the start
yup. this is happening to me exactly as you describe, @old sapphire ever since I updated both patches that came out earlier this am. It wasnt happening last night at all. Am playing on experimental branch, Win10, latest nvidia drivers. I have an xbox controller but havent turned it on in ages. I have use 3 monitors. As you said the game isn't "capturing" the mouse cursor like it should (like it doesnt keep the cursor in the game) so whenever I go into my inv, a station, or the menu for example, the mouse cursor leaves the game and I end up inadvertently 'clicking out' of the game.
I have tried:
-alt+tabbing out
-alt+enter (switching between fullscreen & windowed)
-messing with the resolution and benchmarking the video settings in hopes of reverting something
-restarting my pc
...all to no avail.
This is a game issue not a hardware issue. It makes the game extremely annoying and its so bad that I kinda dont even wanna play untill its fixed.
also noticing now that it's happening even when Im not in a menu UI. just simply strafing from side to side enough will make my mouse cursor leave the game screen and go out into my left and right monitors.
Same issue here. I am on stable branch. I have added no controllers and cannot keep the mouse within the game window no matter if it is window or fulls screen.
I had a mouse problem where the pointer was not syncing up to the pointer. The problem that caused this error: Alt + Tab to switch from VEIN to an open desktop window then back into VEIN changed the game's display resolution to the window's display resolution size e.g. viewing a non full screen window. In desktop windows, the mouse curser pointer worked find. However, VEIN changed display resolution did not sync the mouse pointer to the current display resolution size. To correct this, I had to change the VEIN display resolution size back to HD 1920 x 1080 and the mouse pointer then worked, as normal, on selecting main menu and in-game buttons. I hope this information helps The desync of the controller and pointer not being accurate on mouseover, mouse clicks, etc. may occur when the logic coordinates of the mouse or controller are not syncing to the visual pointer might be due to the unexpected error that I experienced, where VEIN adopted a changed display resolution.
I think this is what happened to me this morning. I sneezed and hit some keys. I did end up in a windowed version. Every since then, even when going into settings and reselecting FullScreen, my mouse is "low". If I try and point at an object inventory, it is the next item up that is selected. Same with the game settings..if I click on "Load", it will go into the "Save" menu.
