I started a server using the host provided G-Portal. It is a multi-player coop server were we both share resources and a base. We play maybe 2 times a week. The time continues even when both of us are off line. The Time progresses and the UC continues to feed even when we are both off line. I have both setting on the server set to no on both (as seen in the attachment. This has resulted in coming back to teh game with everything destroyed 4 time, making the game un-enjoyable and un-playable. Is there anything I need to do to stop this from happening. G-Portal said that it is not on their end.
#Server continues to advance time.

Can you send me the actual Game.ini config file?
Where would I get that? from teh server?
Your ip and password can be seen now in public
He asked for the Config.INI
Just saying. Anyone can join who's seen it
I have changed teh password.
The 'advance with time off' setting should be present here and it is not, so it is in fact your host's issue; you can fix it by adding a file named Engine.ini in the same folder as this with the contents
[ConsoleVariables]
vein.Time.ContinueWithNoPlayers=0
Missed the file, sorry - change vein.Time.ContinueWithNoPlayers = 0 to vein.Time.ContinueWithNoPlayers=False
Do other settings apply ingame? I've never seen spaces in our ini config files
@true salmon Ok so I can change that and it will stop advancing time will it stop feeding the UC
And i add that to the Game.ini correct?
@true salmon I have changed the setting to vein.Time.ContinueWithNoPlayers=False in the Engine.ini file (The only .ini file it was in). When I changed it to false and put it back on the server it would not load the server. I changed it back to vein.Time.ContinueWithNoPlayers=0 (with no spaces) uploaded it to the server and it loaded the game but it changed the setting back to vein.Time.ContinueWithNoPlayers = 0 (With Spaces).
In the game I used the \ to change a setting and it changed it on the G-Portal server configs. But since the \ setting in game does not have the Time Continues with no players setting I need to rely on that setting on the G-Portal server settings.
Also, other settings do not appear to be working on the server. I have furniture respawn set to yes and I have not seen that furniture respawns.
Ok I have reopened a ticket with G-Portal support and let them know that that .ini config files need to remove spaces before and after the = and that the true/false settings need to be true/false not 1/0. Lets see if this helps.~~ I am just surprised that the programming is to rigid to recognize the true/false as 1/0 and to not accept spaces.~~
I see now taht it is teh Unreal Engine that is limited to teh true/faulse instead of 1/0.
when devs ask you for config files, take a moment to sanitize your .ini file i.e. remove the IP/Password. Why? Well, if I were an unethical hacker, I could totally spoof your IP address and cause havoc elsewhere and make it seem like it's coming from this server. I could also load the IP up and launch a DDoS attack against it making it unplayable. And the password...well...that's a gimme. I would also suggest strengthing the password to prevent knuckleheads from just brute forcing their way into your server and running amok and ruining it.
Thanks for the info. For some reason I thought that these threads would be private. But now I know and if something like that happens i can change things. I am already looking at changing Server hosting companies . Just need to look for a good one.
@true salmon Ok, I changed services and and made sure that the setting you said needed changing was changed and it still doesn't stop the time from counting down when no one is on the server. Please assist.
@true salmon Bump.
Looked into it & it's a bug with the UCs, will be fixed in the next hotfix
Ok thanks
If I remember the Weekly updates, now that Hotfix 17 is in place you will be focusing on build .023 and so there shouldn't be another hotfix for build .022, correct?
There will be yeah, we have a few crash fixes we figured out over the weekend so it'll probably be in the next day or two unless we find issues during testing
Great thanks
You are most welcome!
@true salmon Hello I tested the Hotfix 18 and the UC continues to feed supplies when no one is in the game. I had 98 hours until stuff started to decay I logged out for 2 hours and I now have 96 hours left until stuff decays. Nothing changed config wise so the configs posted above should still be what I am running with. I di make sure to update the server to the new .022h18 and the client to .022h18. If needed I can repost the configs, just let me know what is needed.
Weird, and time itself isnt running ingame?
Therse are the settings n teh Engine.ini
vein.Time.ContinueWithNoPlayers=False
vein.Time.NightTimeMultiplier=3.0
vein.Time.NightTimeMultiplierEnd=6.0
vein.Time.NightTimeMultiplierStart=20.0
vein.Time.StartOffsetDays=0.0
vein.Time.TimeMultiplier=16.0
vein.TV.AllowRemoteContent=0
vein.TV.Server.AllowRemoteContent=1
vein.UtilityCabinet.ContinueWithNoPlayers=False
So time shouldn't be passing in game.
I didn't check the ingame time so I will check that now.
When I logged off it was 6:54 AM 8/12/2033. I will see what it is in a few minutes to compare time.
When I logged back in the time was 7:03 AM 8/12/2033 so time is continuing to pass without anyone in the game.
Ok something weird is happening. I waited 7.5 minutes real time to log in again that should be 2 hours game time (7.5x16=120). It should have been 9:03 AM 8/12/2033 roughly. However it was only 7:20 AM 8/12/2033 so only 17 minutes had passed in game. Time did pass but slower.
If needed I can PM the login information and you can do some independent testing.
These Screenshots are 1 hour, real time, apart the Decay counter is down by one hour The in game time only advanced 13 minutes. Weird.
