I absolutely adore the ability to transport furniture with vehicles, or even place fuel barrels on the back of the trucks, but what has always been bugging me is that it doesnt affect the weight of the storage. i think, if i placed a bed inside a trailer, or couch on the bed of the truck, when i open the invontory of the truck storage, weight from the placed item should be taken up, it adds a layer of immersion and realism and limits what you can carry, i think it makes perfect sense, because if you can't put juice box in the truck because its not able to take more weight, you shouldnt be able to put giant gasoline barrel in the back like it's nothing.

to clarify, if i put 100kg bed on the truck, when i open inventory i want 100kg of the capacity to be taken, even if theres nothing else in it
it might be one of the things with the vehicle reworks that are in the pipeline.
the current method of transporting furniture or other things on them is very placeholder but at least functional.
What i would love to see is the boxtruck having the box be inaccessable and then you can 'stow' furniture, etc inside out of view of the player.
man why did i deserve clown emote 🙁
some people just does not like change
IMO, the storage (current weight) is like a box in the back of the vehicle, if you add a furniture/another object, its an extra. If I add an item in the roof of the car/truck, why should we add It in the storage capacity? Thanks
because it is silly to be able to stack 2000 pounds of stuff on a car that can load maybe 400 pounds.
it is even more silly that we essentially just put stuff on there and it won't fall off unless we hit something despite not strapping it down.
This would be something to flesh out and diversify vehicles ingame where if you want to grab some large furniture like a fridge you should need a vehicle that is actually able to load it unless you could remove a couple of bolts and then ''package'' it for later reassembly like with the tire storage.
It would also make getting trailers a goal because that could be hooked up to most smaller cars and offer some ''flatbed'' capacity.
This is just.... silly
as an example
the large shelf on the front should be possible to dissassemble into parts for reassembly at a another location
it is not a complicated piece of furniture just dang heavy
To add to this I think the collision issue can be mitigated by making any item placed on a vehicle become "plot" or "indestructable" for that time being.. AKA storage items. Its depressing having extra storage added and full only to hit a spawning zombie, fox, pothole, desynced player beind you that cant see you and hits you only to destroy the objects..
