I am sorry that would make no sense. It makes sense to un-equipped weapons and equip them again when we exit vehicles. I mean if you are holding a shotgun and you get in a car you are going to have to put it away. I mean you are not going to drive a vehicle with it in between your back and your seat that would be uncomfortable. In the case of Small handguns okay sure, because it is possible to hold a handgun and drive. But for bigger weapons, it would make more sense to get out of the car and have the option to retrieve a Shotgun, Bow and Quiver, Rifle, Baseball Bat, Crowbar, Hoe, etc.

For quality of life as a game, I think OP's suggestion is pretty sound. If you want the option to retrive a shotgun, bow, rifle etc when you exit, that's fine--you can hotkey it when you exit. But to leave the car everytime automatically unequipped is maddening after the umpteenth time of looting or inspecting multiple vehicles. The same goes for sitting or accidentally sitting in chairs. I get that weapons should be unequipped when getting IN the vehicle, but can we autoequip the last weapon held when we exit or stand from chairs?
