Not to sound like an absolute gun nerd but naturally it would be suitable for a lower ammo capacity gun to have more damage in contrast to a higher capacity gun of roughly the same parameters; especially so when the chambers are different.

he made me know a lot about calibers 'n such

yeah, 9mm is more dependable in a standard situation but in an apocolypse you need a 45

I know he mentioned there is still a lot of balancing to do, and most of the guns on that table aren't in the loot tables yet. From what I just tested only the shotguns and revolver have the ability to single shot a zombie with a headshot at the moment. Didn't try the bow or mining laser though.

if we really want to reflect these two weapons firing characteristics sort of have to be weighted into the context. I'm not sure that stopping power would evaluate the same way against zeds as it does in the usual sources that compare the rounds

#

Do zeds have hydroshock? Do they have pain shock? If not, then the 45 punching a fist sized hole through their rotten meat won't really make as much different as having 6 more rounds lined up to attempt more headshots.

#

if we can tweak all the factors, the 1911 should be punching about 30% harder than any 9mm with the same round dynamics

#

with shorter falloff due to lower velocity, and slightly less precision and lower propensity to jam due to weapon characteristics

#

It's worth mentioning that while both pistols can be fired at the same rate, the recoil on the 1911 makes it prohibitive.
