The updating/validating should be done normally after a few moments, if it's taking you 3 days then it's in your computer more or less that's the issue 😄

Yeah, that sounds like something very unlikely to be related to the game, much more likely either an issue with Steam, your internet, or your computer.
Maybe try restarting Steam or even your entire system?
Also check how much space is available on the drive it is installed on, if it is over 90% full then all kinds of weird behaviors can be experienced.
