Agrees with this, but I believe what the devs decided for this was in case you log back into your game & in a safe place with friends around you they might not want your character swinging away or shooting by accident. Still though good suggestion for it should be an option in the game in settings to log back in with weapon holsterered or equipped

there is sort of a pin to your numbered keyboard most items will say pin if its a weapon. when you pin them, they go in order of you pinning them to your hotkeys. Example if you pin 1st a spiked baseball bat then a gun or firearm it will be spiked baseball bat number 1 then gun/firearm number 2
