Its that time again! Tournament 6 is in the home stretch, and that means its time to get Async Tournament 7 underway! Tournament 7 will be using a new format. Those familiar with the SCPT Intergalactical format will recognize many similarities here:

  • All players will participate in 2 simultaneous prelim games, with the 2nd game starting 4 days after the 1st
  • Games will have a soft 30 day time limit, with a grace period followed by a tie breaker. Server-wide 78% of all 6p, 10pt async games are currently completed within this length of time.
  • Advancement to the Semifinals will be based on a hidden Tournament Score, which will be calculated based on data collected from your games. Wins will outweigh any other metric towards your score. Win both of your games, and you are nearly guaranteed to advance to the semis, but many single game winners are likely to advance as well.
  • Games are currently planned to begin on Mon June 1st, but signups will remain open for late starts until the 2nd set of games begin, currently planned for Fri June 5th.

tourney 6 started a week after TE launched back in early Nov. And the finals are still going.

limit = 3 + # of completed games. just jump in honestly. there are definitely some sharks who've played hundreds of games in the pool. but there's also plenty of people who are less experienced and playing for fun. as long as you play your best and play both games to the finish, you'll be fine
