If you missed it this is what it was.
an exploration game of of Ti. I played it a while back with another player who created it, whos name i cannt remember, but it went like this
- Each player starts out with a red and a blue tile and randomly assigns a postion next to their hs at the start of the game
- all other tiles on the map are hidden (like a fog of war)
3)players declare what is moving into which system then roll a die on a 1-4 a random red tile is placed.
If is a sun you die (unless you have the muaat tech or an action card that ignores anomalies)
If its an astoride field you die unless you have antimass
If its a gravity rift you must immediately make a rift check
On a 5-8 a random blue tile is placed.
On a roll of 9 a minor faction is added rolling for a random home system
On a 10 mecatol rex is added with its custodian token and it has an alpha and beta wormhole. After rex is found a 5-9 is a blue and 10 is a minor faction
Another ring is added to the board but players can only explore that after they have filled out their respective slice of the map.
Ds faction and The extra planets are included but omen dice are banned as its over powered
It would be playing both minor factions and age of exploration
Oh and the star charts had another function. If you purge one its a guaranteed blue tile. If you purge 2 its an automatic 10 so rex or a minor faction if rex was found

Abosl techs and absol political secret and possible 12 points are also a consideration

Down to try anything, seems like it might get a bit messy with the dice luck (like half the table might just completely die action 1, but interested to see where it goes

Yea, I was thinking the same thing, I don't know about minor factions, but you have barely a 50% chance to draw something decent.
You could basically end your own game R1.

Especially if you’re a faction that starts with one ship with capacity. If it dies and warfare isn’t soon you just pass

I’m willing to try it but maybe we have a check in after R1 and if people aren’t feeling it or 1-2 people are just completely out of it we assess if we want to spend the next few weeks doing it?

@winged coral we can change the roll of 1 to a hyperlane where you choose a hyperlane tile from the POK hyplerlanes and you roll again. The benefits of this are your more likey to get a blue tile and the tile you go to is unlocked. For exampl if you start at 301 and you go to explore 201 and get a hyperlane you could skip to 101 roll again and 101 would not be locked

I think part of the help we needed was we just don’t know how to start the game

We start it like a normal draft then when we go to build the map each player will pick a blue tile and a red tile and will add it at a random postion near HS. Ill take care of the rest of the map
Ironically ive never done the start game set up myself. No time like the present i guess
