I was just wanting to report it, I just shrunk my names until they were a single line
We do lose some real-estate from the pencil and X
So I dunno if you want to consider modal editing, that's a headache in it's own right to implement

You just made me realize I misread your initial ask: I think a dropdown with all games would be preferred so you don't have to shift your view around in order to adjust what's in the list
Just muscle memory of where to click/interact with for a consistent list (all) versus an inconsistent list (those not in view)
But I think that's purely a personal pref
But thanks for the website, it's def my preferred way to play, I've lived with it in a tab group forever now since I mostly play when at the PC

and yeah. that makes sense. UX is hard, because the tabs are much more prominent so they drive adoption of the feature. a dropdown is arguably more usable long-term, if people will notice it existing 😄

Yeah 100%, it's all tradeoffs. It's why I tossed out the modal option where you move it to a singular pencil to the side and show/hide renaming + closing tabs behind that mode, but then you have to somehow teach people to go use the pencil for removing ended games/renaming/etc.

I'd love it because I try to actively avoid playing the same faction in multiple games
