Again, I'm still new. But, I don't know whose turn it is easily. I have to go through the SCs to work out who is after me or before me so I can make judgements about what to play. Could you put the turn order next to the Round number. Put the symbol there, and when they pass, their symbol could either disappear or turn on it's side (like we do in irl games) or put a "Pass" sticker over it or something. That would be awesome! Thanks. And thanks for all of your hard work!
#Whose turn is it?

Use /fow ping_active_player
It’ll tell you whose turn it is
Tho the bot doesn’t really keep track of that
It’ll just ping the last player whose turn was announced
I guess it sorta keeps track in the action phase now
hopefully your action channel is clean, so the person whose turn it is is the most recent person to be pinged
You can also always do /status turn_order
To list out all the turns (tho it also pings everyone)
Joining this to keep track
You're all saying, I could type blah blah, but we have the SCs shown in two places on the map. Why have them there, when I could just scroll up and look each time or whatever. All I'm saying is, how hard would it be to just have it on the map? Right there. It's important information.
I'm in 8 games now, keeping track of it is nearly impossible.
I'd like it and I think it would be helpful for everyone.
I think originally chadsit and holyT misunderstood the question/request
i answered "I don't know whose turn it is easily", is the question about full turn order?
Jazz did point out a command which could be useful to you in your current games as a sort of stop gap
Yes it seems to be about a broader lack of knowing who's turn it will be in the future or who's turn it would be before they go
Suggestion , make it show up like "YELLOW NEXT (5)"
i guess it could be reworked into this space somehow?
if it says initiative number next to the color of the player who is up, you don't need much more information
it's got some horizontal space to be extended to fit in player names/faction symbols
Well, I think it could go near the round number like suggested
Would be very fancy to have a 6 sided dial with the faction symbols in a circle, and then an arrow going clockwise
(i swear we had something like it back when we played TI3)
If we ever get that, that's when I know I can retire 😂
this, but with all the factions sticking out
Naalu is a problem tho
They always are
yeah, but maybe extended horizontally so names can fit in too
then we're back to the issue the other day where people don't know faction symbols by heart lol
what kind of players don't know the faction symbols!
(i always mix up N'orr and Letnev
Easy to cross reference with the player list below, but yeah I suppose
OR : just make this zone light up for the current player?
I've been wanting to do that for a while tbh
i think they want to know who will be after their turn
Jazz write me a change player zone color plz and I will use it to establish afk and timezone thingssss
I don't know what that's supposed to mean or look like
Change it from grey to a different color
Do you mean transparent to a specific color?
Yeh
Yes
Yes
That was me! Lol. But I don't need to know them now because they're written there now.
I still think just have the faction symbols next to "round x" going in order from 1st to 6th. And if possible, have them gray out when a person passes.
I just need to know the order so I can plan accordingly.
@timid owl what is the purpose of the check?
Is it to
- check if your turn is due?
- check whose turn is it in general?
Sounds like the /status turn_order command but without having to run the command, which is fair
Also sounds like they are in multiple games and want check if their turn is due - /help list my games comes to mind
Yes, I'm in multiple games and it's just easier to see who's coming after me and helpful to see who else will take a turn in the round.
The thing is, what's wrong with immediate information, yes, I could type something and find out, then go back to the map and look again, whilst getting lots of pings.
All of the buttons have made life so much easier! Please keep going with it.
@timid owl If I'm understanding right, you're trying to replicate a IRL practice you saw onto the digital realm 🙂
@vagrant oar @placid pecan to elaborate - Players placed a control token in intiative order next to the score tracker each round, person closest to the score tracker adjusted it each round, and nudged the active player's marker to indicate whose turn it is
Yes. That's exactly it.
As you know I play in a lot of games in async. And now on my phone, it would just be nice to see exactly whose turn is coming up. For my planning.
Just to add my two cents, I feel like the best option would be something like this. It wouldn't have to keep track of who's turn it is, just the turn order (i.e. it would only have to update twice per round - once when all SCs are picked, and once when SCs get returned), with a few segments each with a faction symbol and initiative number. It could possibly go to the right of the score track, or to the right of the round number?
At this stage, I'm willing to take anything.
I'm not a graphics guy, so this is @warped igloo territory
Maybe highlight the name for now? I think a graphical Pointer similar to the "active Hero" thing would be cool. But I'm going on vacation tomorrow (without Laptop) and still have a ton to do before that has absolutely nothing to do with TI and more with doing laundry
@placid pecan See above. Just make the name of the active player red for now
3 months later, but I added a simple first iteration of this.
Only works in action phase at the moment, and hides passed players or players without SC.
Bloody brilliant! I just saw it now! It looks perfect well done to whoever did it! I think @violet oriole It looks so so good! I hope that you like it yourself. Nice that it hides passed players.
it's definitely a WIP, but I think it look alright for now
I think it might be getting mucked up by Naalu though
