Wanted to make a post about the sound design in the latest patches, as I'm starting to see a pattern with each sound that is updated:
Some of the updates to the sounds introduced with the latest patches are either insignificant, or direct downgrades of their older counterparts.
To name a few:
Firing Pulsars and Punishers - this was a direct downgrade compared to their older sound models when firing these weapons. It's hard to put into words, but they feel "cheaper"; as in, they don't feel as robust and impactful as the previous sound design. Big mechs need BIG gun sounds!
Reflector Gadget - this one was a mild change; I don't hate the new sound, but the lightning crackling of the older sound design model again made it feel more robust and impactful than the bubbling effect we currently have
Lancelot Core Ability - I'm not entirely sure if this is a bug or not, but the new sound model for the Lancelot Core ability has sound motes of the "healing" aura that the Try core has. I don't think this is a large issue for the majority of the playerbase, but for newer players, having sound effects represent distinct effects helps to identify what's going on. Also the general sound of the Lancelot core ability has been reduced drastically (you can hardly hear it when in battle). Personal opinion - the older sound design again sounds better here.
There are a few more that were changes that I feel were a minor impact, so I'll leave them out of this post - I mainly wanted to address the main issue at hand; some of the sounds feel like they've lost their "robustness" and have been replaced with a "cheaper" sounding effect
