I feel like the current system that players are killed is fine….. but it could be more interesting by making it so that destroyed modules provide negative effects for the player instead of outright killing them
Such as:
legs: instead of destroying 1 leg resulting in destroying the robot, it reduces movement by 33% (though this value may change depending of the regular speed of the robot) but destroying both legs will destroy it. This makes it so the player may need to use their boosters more often; it is also one out of two ways that you can destroy enemy robots. Leg health may need to be increased so that this isn’t the only module players target.
Main torso: after being destroyed will reduce horizontal traverse speed by 33%. on top of this module being destroyed, any further damage will instead go to pelvic armour.
Pelvic armour: like in Battle Of Titans, pelvic armour (or core HP as it’s called in-game) cannot be damaged until the main torso gets destroyed. After being completely destroyed will destroy the robot (this may require health re-balancing) this is the second and last way to destroy enemy robots.
Arms (or whatever those things that house the weapons are called): reduce vertical targeting speed by 50%
All modules: once a module is completely destroyed, they can only be repaired up to 33% of their total health and their respective de-buffs are removed after any health is returned to them.
Some of these changes may require major health rebalancing in modules, but I think this may help make matches more fun as each module isn’t an instant death and might make players strategise and prioritise their robot’s combat effectiveness.
