The game keeps crashing over and over again. I checked my mail, it crashed. I tried buying moonstones, it crashed. If I do anything thing in the premium shop, it crashes. I can't even look at stuff. I just tried buying something from scrooges twice and both times the game crashed. And also I think fences are bugged. I try laying some down and it doubles up on some of it and won’t save when I back out of build mode and then gets stuck and the screen starts flashing and I have to force quit the game.

Got on today and we’re back to crashing. I timed it from the moment the title screen popped up until it crashed and it’s between 5-5 1/2 mins. It’s practically unplayable.

To yourself and others having the same issue, I just verified the files in the properties and after that was done it's working again. Worth giving a shot. EDIT: Only works for a couple minutes then reverts to same issue

Issue: Same as all above but I've had it for a longer period so can give a convoluted update on how it might turn out for others. Crashes still present at McDuck stores on Isle and Vale with no successful buys. Star Path reward does not immediately freeze up but will if I linger on a page too long or try to buy something. I have been able to open two clothing pouches without freezing (uncertain if more would cause crash), and at the valley shop I can get two items in a row. A third item causes the game to crash; this has happened twice.

The game freezes or crashes whenever I try to buy something from Scrooge (in all stores), when I look at the preview of an item or bundle in the Premium Shop or when I try to collect a reward from the StarPath. I'm also unable to create Touch of Magic clothing designs without the game freezing or crashing. I have never experienced this many crashes with the game.
❗ The only thing that has worked for me so far, and what I'd like to share with others who are struggling with the same issue, is playing on the 'PC Very Low' or 'PC Ultra Low' Graphics Preset. It's not ideal but I have been able to do all of the above on these lower settings. However, I'm unable to participate in Dreamsnaps until this issue is fixed due to the unstable nature of the game whilst playing on 'PC Low' or higher graphics.

I just got in my game, I go to buy...with actual money...some items in the premium shop and the crashing is still happening. I am incredibly frustrated since I do spend money on this game and can't even enjoy it in the shop. I can't even spend the gold coins with Scrooge either. I understand things happen but could someone at least address this issue? I saw the patch notes and didn't see anything about this crashing. I was successful in purchasing the Gothic Halloween Set in my recommended section after 5 days of trying - however, my game crashed right after my purchase lol.

Edit to add: I went back in to Scrooge's shop to try and get the item I was trying to buy because I didn't have it yet and have been waiting for it and the shop completely reset and it didn't register the item I was trying to get! I am so frustrated 😠

Still no response, in 22 days other than a form letter response to this massive issue, on PC , while you can do all of the duties on the Star path, and pay for premium, first two pages of token rewards crash / freeze but eventually allow, but any time you even try to access page three to redeem the whole game just closes, still unable to access and buy inventory in Scrooges store, cannot open reward chest from dream snaps without game freezing and closing, voting on dream snaps does not stay as counted. It was suggested that duplicates or high items count above 1000 in Valley could be causing issues, issues still occur even at an item count of 300. the anger comes because this is not even being acknowledged or an ETA of this massive issue being addressed. This isn't not being able to complete a quest or pick up an item, or laying a fence, The rewards/ moonstones are not available this is real money on top of the actual game purchase being affected. some response and an ETA is warranted.

Window pops up saying Dreamlight isn’t responding and it doesn’t matter what option I pick it freezes my entire pc and I have to manually restart it. I’ve validated the flies and put the settings on low and it doesn’t seem to help. This is the only game that does this. Reply to my original issue post, this message is an addition to that.
I don't want to be salty but it has been seven weeks since the PC/Steam players have had big crashing issues. I was hoping it would get fixed, or at least a little bit better, with the Wishblossom Ranch update, even though it wasn't listed on the patch notes. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, the stability is still horrible and the game is borderline unplayable (and even fully unplayable for some). I understand that the DLC is/was a big priority and I also understand that you are all very busy with all sorts of issues and bugs, but at this point give us something, anything. The issue is not even listed on the DDV Trello board as an issue that GL is aware of or is actively working on a fix for (!). I understand that it might be a complicated issue to fix and might take some time, but the communication about this issue has been close to none and after almost two months of waiting and being unable to play the game some information or acknowledgement has to be given, because at this point it feels like this issue is low on the priority list and waiting for nothing has become frustrating. It has come to the point that I only open the game to do some Star Path duties and once that's done, I might as well quit the game. So please, give us any info you have about the progress of fixing this issue.

Things I’ve found crash the game are buying things from Scrooge’s store, viewing or buying things in the premium shop, and unlocking star path rewards. Since the update yesterday there’s been a few new ones: I can’t open the change mount menu without it freezing and crashing and opening horse tack reward pouches also crashes the game. I’ve also had several instances of the game just crashing while I’m doing nothing. It’s pretty unplayable. So many people are having the same issue, please address it.

Update: I took my computer offline and it loaded without issue into the game. As soon as I put it back online it starts crashing at the Press any Key screen.
Update 2: If I go offline and start the game. Once I'm in the game I can go online and connect and play just fine. There is an issue with the launcher when I'm online that is causing the game to crash.

performance issues and game crashes.
i'm suddenly having both performance and crashing issues with dreamlight valley. the performance issues happen every few seconds with the game becoming extremely laggy and freezing to the point it's basically unplayable, it happens when i'm walking/running the map, gathering resources, using any dlc mechanics, opening menus and interacting/talking with the villagers. the game runs completely fine when i'm inside my house or inside any buildings/villager houses, but when i leave, the performance issues start back up immediately (even when i've put the game on the lowest settings possible to test if it's my graphics). the game crashes also happen constantly, especially when i'm moving between maps, doing quests or tabbing out of the game. i've only recently started playing the game (with the current star path) and i haven't had any issues like this until a few days ago, so i'm assuming it's a bug/issue with the wishblossom ranch update?

I have been having the same problem. It doesn't matter if I check it right after loading in or wait an hour and check it later. Opening mail, (unsure if its a reward or just a thankyou from character), its always waiting waiting waiting, program unresponsive and shut it down.
Until further notice I will ignore mail, but I shouldn't have to. Hoping this gets fixed soon. Thank you.

I was going to read the thank you letter he wrote, but the game crashed when I checked the mailbox. Hope this info helps!

Issue: Same as @silver peak I can't buy anything in Scrooge's Store, claim any of the star path items, claim any decor/furniture bags, I haven't been able to claim any of the halloween special quest prize bags either, they're now just in a room in my house. I've submitted a ticket and followed all the options given and nothing's changed. I now can't summon a mount in Wishblossom Ranch. I've lowered my graphics, restarted, freed up storage etc, I don't know what more I can do and the game is just so difficult to play when it crashes whenever I try to interact!!

Issue: Attempting to replace fencing in my Glade of Trust with the new floral fencing. After replacing the fence, my game locks up on hitting escape from furniture mode. The screen sits there flickering and the wait cursor spins, the game has effectively crashed.

Cannot access the mailbox for several days. The game spins indefinitely and the only way to get out is to hard shut it down/force quit. (Like some others have mentioned I'm pretty sure this started happening after finishing one of Tigger's quests, but I cannot be 100% sure).

Had the WBR DLC for a couple of days now without any major issues however I just finished Tigger's bee quest and then went to open my mailbox and the game crashed. Logged back in, tried again, and the game crashed again.

Same issue for me as well. Mailbox has been causing my game to crash when accessing it since completing Tigger's first quest a few days ago. And now I have a quest from someone else that requires me to get into my mailbox, but it is still crashing.

I have been playing with the WBR DLC installed for a few days without encountering major problems. However, after completing Tigger's first quest, the game consistently crashes whenever I attempt to open my mailbox, which prevents me from progressing further.

Issue: I am still having crashing issues. After my last post I triple checked everything on my computer and my Steam account. I googled to see if I was missing anything. It had suggested I reset my settings in the game from the loading page. I have never touched my settings before other than turning off the scramblecoin game icon and the settings for fishing and mining etc. I did that and that seemed to help a little bit and I had far fewer crashes until tonight. I haven't even been on the game for 20 minutes and I have had 4 crashes when trying to buy from Scrooge. I really hope this issue is fixed this week with the update or at least addressed.
