Hi! many of us apple arcade users are experiencing this issue that makes the game unplayable on ipad (9th generation) and i have also seen some reports of some iphone devices not working either. The game should be compatible on these devices although when u enter the game it appears with this issue.

Getting the same “Oh No” error message as others have posted stating it’s not compatible with this version. Ours is an iPad Air (3rd generation) updated to 17.1.2. We can play the most recent of games such as Hello Kitty Island or Barbie Dreamhouse.

2 separate issues on IPhone 14 and IPad (8th gen) both of which are compatible. On the iPad (same as everyone else) it’s saying it’s not compatible. And on the IPhone, anytime i play DDLV it shows “player name” and never once gave me the options to change it. (Signed in to Game Center.) both are properly up to date on updates and completely compatible according to the guidelines.

The iPad Air 3rd generation is updated to iPadOS 17.1.2 and has the A12 Bionic chip. Dealt with the tears of a 6-year old last night, and patiently explained how glitches happen etc. Can’t say I’m too happy reading the brush-off responses folks seem to be getting about compatibility. Be better Gameloft and Apple Arcade. We’re big supporters of you and you need to be listening to your customers.

Edit: I’m used to that but the fact that it says it’s compatible in the app details and then doesn’t work for so many of us was a big question mark for me. Wonder who’s side the error is on, Apple Arcade or Gameloft 🥸

I find the controls for editing furniture lacking - there’s no way to rotate the camera (that I can find) without leaving edit mode and adjusting the camera manually. Clicking furniture is very finicky, and I find the light fixtures constantly get clicked when attempting to click something else.

I think this is a more appropriate space for this comment: Can anyone help me? I’ve attempted to start a new save on Apple Arcade 3 times now. Every time I do this the game says it cannot connect to Game Centre even though it tells me I’m signed in, it also lets me save to iCloud. When I start the game it doesn’t give me an option to name my character and I keep ending up being called “player name”. 🙃

issues:

nothing in mailbox (no week 1 bonus items, no tropical wood)
in character creator if using touch controls, after selecting eyes to change eye color/style/etc. there is no control to return to customize the rest of the character. Hitting b when using a controller works but there's no way to get out in touch controls that I could find
TOM - after changing item base color, you cannot leave the base color to add more layer, must exit the design and come back
TOM- touch controls don't seem to be able to rotate or move camera view other than presets
furniture mode touch controls- cannot pan or move camera, only rotate, zoom is a little wonky
6)name - game never asks for player name and either displays name as 'player' or displays the game center account name as the player name
no full screen photo mode
it would be helpful if saving a photo had a confirmation something

Generally the game loads super fast on an iPad Pro M1, but when I restored the game from the background today and tried to load into the world from the main menu, it just sat there kinda “fake loading” for a good 2 minutes. Normally takes about 10-15 seconds. I force closed it and reopened it and it was fine again.

I’m not sure if this is an issue for every platform or just for me on my laptop with apple arcade.

First of all, (sometimes) when I open the map and travel to a location, the fast travel screen doesn’t disappear from the screen. I arrive but it still shows the locations like ‘The docks’ ‘the courtyard’, … I have to restart my game to fix it.

Secondly, and this happens often, when I load the game and go to another tab on my computer, it doesn’t respond to me moving my mouse, clicking or moving around. I always have to restart the game without checking out another tab to make sure it works.

Sometimes when I open chests and press ‘T’, it doesn’t work. I tried pressing ‘R’ but that didn’t work either. I had to restart the game to make it work. Happens often.

And lastly, not sure if it depends on what I’m doing, but sometimes the game stops responding. It’s like my keyboard and mouse are disconnected. I have to restart my game to fix it.

Now I’m glad that the game autosaves and almost none of the progress I made is lost, but it’s still quite annoying.

App store still claims we can all download this game when apparently anyone who has less than 4gb ram (pretty much any pre 2023 ipads that are not an ipad Pro) can't play.
I've heard so many say Text size is way too small on a phone (yes even iphone pro/pro max) and there's no voice over for text to help us.

Issue:  Lost in the Dark Grove quest AND Secrets of Eternity Isle quest.  As soon as I try to enter the portal, the game crashes and closes.   When I try to enter the Dark Grove and when I interact with the Ancient Vessel.  Game crashes and closes.    Any advice would be appreciated.  I entered a ticket for the Dark Grove issue.  Thanks.

Issue: Unable to cook in any cooking quest using a SteelSeries Nimbus controller. Can not scroll down and select the "Start Cooking" option. It just keeps scrolling in the ingredients space. I do notice the ">" indicator there, but when I press ">" on the D-pad, nothing happens. I do notice that same icon indicated in the main playing window to open the "Dreamlight/Collection/Quests/Settings" menu, but it is actually the down button on the d-pad that does that.

I cannot get to Eternity Isle at all. As soon as I interact with the boat, I get the Rift in time title screen, then the game crashes and closes. Doesn't matter time of day. Ipad pro 5th gen.

Given the arcade version is missing so many things as they are "pay extra" it is quite frustrating that the "included" dlc is totally broken and doesn't work. Especially since apple arcade just increased monthly price by 50%. Gameloft doesn't seem to be interested in fixing this. There are many of us with this issue as I've read here and on the reviews for the game in the apple store.

Issue: Frequent game crashes. Happens with more frequency during longer game sessions (20+ minutes) and after spending extended time (5+ minutes) in building mode. It is especially frustrating to spend the effort lining up decorations and finding that perfect spot only to back out of the mode and have the game crash and all the effort wasted.

I am intermittently unable to load savegame data. On application load, a new game starts. Playing in offline mode seems to help. I believe the underlying issue is that my DDD User ID did not associate correctly with my Apple Game Center account.

That isn't an issue that's how the Apple Arcade version works. You have to start a new game, you can't connect your old save to an Apple Arcade one

I started playing in the last week, and experienced the game crashing when trying to load A Rift In Time and also going through the dark portal in the Forest of Valor. I contacted Gameloft support about it and was told various things to try, the final one being reinstalling the app. I was a bit wary of this but as the game saves to the cloud I assumed that after reinstalling it would restart at the same place. However, despite being logged in to Apple Arcade on the same account and it still showing my “achievements”, it now wants me to start an entirely new game. There’s no sign of my progress so far and I can’t find any way to download from cloud in settings etc. Did I get bad advice and have I just lost a week of my time? 😭 I haven’t had a reply to my support ticket :/

Since the update my ipad runs hotter than even before. Yesterday it sent my ipad into restore mode and it was nonresponsive until it cooled off.

Before it overheated, I retested access to Eternity Isle. I've continued playing and advance the game more. Same as before - got the title screen to Rift in Time then game crashed & closed.
