I have all of the pieces for the sands in the hourglass quest, I have to return to Jafar on the secluded beach area. However, every time I try to go into one of the hallways, my game crashes. I thought I could cheat by teleporting up to the second level of ancient landing, using the wishing well. That worked I was able to get from the main level up to the second level near Remi’s restaurant. And then I tried to walk through that hallway to the beach and it crashed. And you can’t put the wishing well on secluded beach beach.

Chasing the gears. Has crashed on my 5 times just from this specific part of the quest. Now I can't enter into farther of eternity isle due to crashing. If I'm gonna spend over $100 on ultimate game and DLC, this should still not be happening. At least not to this extent. Loads of crashing on Switch. The game crashes every 5-10 minutes. I’ve noticed any time I do an action like: upgrading or opening a store (Scrooge’s store, Remy’s restaurant etc.) or collect a new resource type too quickly (I.e. holding down A to dig holes to mine pearls or to plant seeds) the game tends to crash even more frequently. Going through the hallway between the docks and the courtyard also seems to crash the game occasionally.

Avoid the tunnels, especially in the rain. I was able to get back to the secluded beach when the rain stopped. But using the wells to shortcut around has helped avoid constant crashing for anyone struggling.

When this happened in the beginning everyone said it’s a BETA and it’s in the testing phase. That is now gone. Now you have more of my money and it’s worse than ever. Do the right thing and refund our money and stop working on new DLC’s that we have to pay for and FIX YOUR SYSTEM

Once your able to save every single little thing u do after u do it, once u get past that quest everything will mostly be smooth sailing helpful tip DO NOT GO TO THE BRIDGE what u need is go directly behind waterful in memory if u see the bridge u went too far

Stuck on the screen travel.. was traveling through fast travel in the menu. I was infront off my home in the Isle, trying too get too Plaza. I landed in plaza, but it crashed.

How the crash occurred: Eternity Isle issue- game crashes trying to walk through ancient gate area. Trying to find location in Eve’s memory, but every time I walk through, the game crashes. I just did everything in order before I even opened it again so far its resolved bit also a little hack I found is if you have expansion and can't get the eve quest to go through the location isn't over the bridge its directly behind the waterfall, after that eve will guide u over the bridge once u go over immediately buy as many wells as u can and avoid using the bridge, so far that helped me lots 🙂

As stated by others, game is crashing on Eternity Isle any time I enter a tunnel. So trying to go from the docks area to the courtyard, or from the courtyard to the next area while trying to fix the bridge causes it to crash and shut down the game. I used the well to get to the courtyard, but as I haven’t been past the courtyard yet, I can’t used that trick to progress further. editing to say I MADE IT THROUGH! I walked instead of ran and it let me get through both tunnels!

The DLC is fun but it's almost unplayable at this point. It continually crashes for me and it seems to be getting worse as I try to progress through Jafar's quests. Expansion pass doing Gaston Level 2 quest, give items remains on screen when ||giving jewels to scrooge|| shows giving the items and first dialogue after pops up but only moving between give/cancel (after having selected give) and camera control works, the pop up won't go away and nothing can be selected or back out of. had to force close the whole game.

It seems like after upgrading the hourglass tool to level 1 the game will crash randomly every 15 minutes. Typically happens walking past the player house on Eternity Isle to the tunnel that takes you to the bridge where you can go to either the dunes or the wilds.

It seems something in that Hallway doesn’t like my switch, maybe the statue head lol 😂

Switch: frozen after getting dressed. Changed outfits for a quest and my character has now frozen, all other characters still run around as normal but mine is stuck and I am not able to go into anything. Praying it saved as I have no option but to restart the game. 🥲 tool is equiped as pictured but not there and character will not move.

The game began crashing as soon as I went over the bridge in Eternity Isle. It has now crashed each time I’ve turned it on, a total of 7 times, once even on the loading screen before the game even loaded up completely. Now it crashes at any point, from picking strawberries or just moving within a few seconds to a minute or so after loading up- not just crossing the bridge. I hope I explained this somewhat well. It may be jumbled because now there’s no clear point at which the game crashes. It just does, sometimes immediately. Clearly there’s an issue after seeing the many people who have posted before me. *Edited to say that this all happened suddenly & within a span of about 10-15 minutes.

@midnight ingot the only work around that seems to be working is use the wells to go between biomes or wait until it stop raining to utilize the tunnels. Hopefully there will be a patch out soon to fix this problem.

Somewhere in this thread someone mentioned changing their clothes FROM one of the new overalls into something older and it eliminated crashes.
I tried it... because why not?
And I swear... I've been crash free since yesterday afternoon.

@astral mirage I am also on the OLED and the weather is the problem, totally agree. I only use the caves when it's not raining, and when it's raining I use the wells. I would also suggest to everyone that you clear the system cache on your consoles. It got rid of some on the lag I was experiencing.

Note for switch crashes, if you have the Royal Monkey Companion equipped try changing him and see how you go through the tunnels.

I had the monkey on everytime I tried entering the tunnel and it crashed once I removed him I could enter the tunnels fine. The crash rate when down significantly ... once I unlocked the wells I mainly used those to travel

Everytime I enter here, it crashes. I’ve been patient with bug issues and stuff until I just paid 40$ CAD for an expansion that I can’t play because it crashes when I try to. If the game isn’t staying FTP and you guys are charging this much money, there should be a handle on the crash issues by now to make the money worth it.

Exactly! Please do not let anyone tell you otherwise or shame you for not wanting to buy anymore. Every switch player deserves to have a game that is playable. I sunk $70 for the game and $30 for the DLC. This is truly unacceptable. I now have the bug where i crash trying to go into the tunnel in the isle. I also was lagging before the global launch. I am so close to asking nintendo for a refund because this is nuts. I understand that the switch is not up to par with the playstation or xbox but its supposed to be portable and having new tech can make it more expensive. Nintendo is trying to make it affordable not pricey. I am not sure why zelda can run and but this cannot. You cannot tell me that zelda is less quality. At this point gameloft needs to put all patches on the backburner and just work on switch only. This game needs to work efficiently. Its not fair that everyone else gets to play but us. I am also freezing where i cannot even move. I can move my camera but not my body. I have soo many weird glitches!

EACH software version should work correctly. Look at other games that have been released for multiple platforms. I don't recall them having this many issues. Maybe dlc was released too early. I ended up just playing my original game working on star path yesterday. No issues there.

I last about 3-5 minutes then the game crashes on Eternity Island. Doesn't crash on the main island just the other. Even backs me farther up even if I've saved on both the save game and the safe on cloud.

My game crashed very often until I did a hard reset (hold down the power button until the screen turns black, then power on again) and clear the cache. It hasn’t crashed since that, it has only freezed a couple times so I had to restart the game. So if you haven’t tried hard reset and clear the cache, do it!! And if you have a microSD card in your switch, check that Dreamlight valley is on the system memory and not the microSD card!! But I really hope they fix the crashes asap🥲

Bought the DLC for my partner and she was able to play on 12/5. She went to Eternity Isle and had been running the game successfully without any issues up until yesterday. Yesterday evening after about 10-15 mins, the game crashed without warning and we could not relaunch the game. As of today, the game continues to have issues and does not launch at all - the crashing occurs before the first loading completes. Very disappointed to have purchased a $30 DLC that is not only unplayable, but now makes it impossible to play the game at all.

May be just a strange coincidence, but I went into the map and changed the characters selected to match who was actually on Eternity Isle as it didn't match, and then the crashes stopped. I have had only 1 issue since, but it didn't crash it just froze. This is on Nintendo Switch.

Is anyone else feeling like this game isn’t playable on switch at all? I keep loosing the ground and when i go to save the screen sleepy blackens in a weird diamond shaped. Some times I’ll talk to characters and i completely crash as well freeze up 🥺 i feel like it’s just my switch because my pc isn’t having these issues shy i night the game gold twice and the dlc twice so i could play from home and away from home and it just crashes and freezes and glitches the whole time. Like many others here I have the problem that my game (Switch) crashes a few minutes into playing it on eternity isle. The game runs poorly on this console anyways (which is a whole different problem in itself) and I know that new content always comes with bugs and problems but im still upset about it because we had the same problems already when the base game got launched a year ago. I was willing to look over the problems then because the game was still in early excess but now im not so willing to look away, especially because many people paid EXTRA money for the dlc. It's super annoying if you spent money on something and basically can't use it because it's crashing every two minutes. Switch is crashing on Eternity Isle daily, several times a day. Seems to occur most often when raining or going through tunnel/hallway from the Ancient Ruins to the bridge to the desert/grasslands. (And the lag that started occurring in November is 10x worse since the December update and considering all the timed duties; gather bonus crops, time rifts etc, it's incredibly frustrating) please fix!

Like many others here, my game crashes when I touch the crossover connecting The Docks and The Courtyard, except mine happens only when I travel from The Courtyard to The Docks near where your expansion house is, not the other way around. I noticed others having the issue when traveling the opposite direct, Docks to Courtyard. I can go from The Docks to The Courtyard with no issue, just not back.

This started 2 days after expansion launch. The only thing I did different was planting seeds in The Tangle biome and today in the desert biome. It was also raining all 4 times mine has crashed. Tomorrow I will test to see if it lets me crossover to The Docks when not raining. I'll edit this if it still crashes. Oh, I also had 1 crash on the load screen, aka the screen after you select "continue".

I also am losing progress with the quests so I am repeating them as well. I just wish it won't make me repeat the quests and event tasks. Platform Switch (OLED): I don't know if this will work for everyone, but so far this has worked for me as far as the crashes are concerned. I played yesterday for approximately three hours straight. It rained but I notice it didn't last for a long time like it did the first time I started playing. I use the wells to travel when it rains and I am able to use the caves with no problem when the rain stops. The other problem I am seeing is there is a lag when you complete mist task or when you pick up a new item there is a slight delay showing the new item you can craft. The hard reset and clearing the cache relieved some of the issue but not all. Overall, the rain is a big issue on this DLC. If it could be disabled until the instability issues are resolved that would help a lot.

Sorry if this comes off rude but.. it's been 5 days. 5 days without being able to touch new content. Not a single word on when it will be fixed. There has been 0 transparency.
We clearly see the issue. Over 100 people have showed the same issue. I've bought this game twice, bought all the other dlc, bought this new dlc. I've been checking the Trello to see if anything new has changed but it hasn't.

I was SO excited to play the DLC, but the game crashes so often now that I don't even want to play. I was looking forward to Christmas SO MUCH so I could do the Star Path, and finish the two quests from last year (like Even Fish Are Festive), but I'm rebooting so often I can't stand it.

When does the game crash?

Usually when I pick up a memory. I see the memory, and the game freezes I can't get back. I have to save before picking one up just in case.

My character turned into a mannequin and doesn't move arms or legs, just floated into the dream castle, and stayed that way until I rebooted the game.

Exiting or entering from The Docks to the Courtyard and also when trying to put the statues arms on. As soon as I cross that threshold it crashes. I was getting around it at first by using fast travel from The Docks to The Courtyard but I obviously can’t do that for the secluded beach. 95% of the time I go through a tunnel or passageway my Switch crashes. Walking very, very slowly seems to help sometimes? Mostly I'm just using wells to travel, but that isn't always possible. 😔 It's like going back to the bad old days when it first came out...💔

How the crash occurred: Playing "I Got A Dreamlight" Quest
At the end, when you have to follow Rapunzel, my game crashed 4 times. "An error occurred". 3 times in following her, once after tossing the coin and going back to Rapunzel. Now restarting again.

Edit: had to follow her again. another crash. once again in a tunnel. and again. I give up. this game takes way too long to keep restarting.

Edit: I decided to try one more time. managed to get to the pool. Made sure Rapunzel was my buddy so she wouldn't walk away as I was tossing the coin. Talked to her. Used well travel to get out. Circumvented the crash, but please fix this!

This is the first proper crash problem I've been having, and I have plenty of room on my SD. If 178GB isn't enough I don't know what is.

I am playing on the switch lite. I have had ZERO crashes. This is what I did. I got rid of games I wasnt playing because this update was going to be BIG GB wise. I don't know if that will help. but often crashes happen due to a lack of memory on the device and clearing the cache isn't enough. I hope this helps.

So I tested it 3 times in a row, if I’m walking through the Ancient Hallway that goes from the Docks to the Courtyard, while it is thundering outside, my game will crash passing through it. You can see on the last pass through the Hallway the game crashes.

I believe the crash is when the rain changes from falling to “inside” where there is no rain. That transition is causing a crash. Any tunnel can cause this issue. It happens while walking, running, or gliding

Hi all! I recently started the Glowing Up quest (part of the new DLC) and I couldn't find the Sundrop Petals. I restarted and suddenly it's logged that I found 2 of 4 petals...and I can't go anywhere in Eternal Isle without the game crashing. I've tried clearing my cache but I'm having the same issue still.

Game crashes/freezes whenever I collect a piece of a memory. It will just get stuck on this screen and the only thing that fixes it is force closing the game. I'm also experiencing a lot of lag both myself and villagers when i hang out with them. Any action I preform doesn't register until about 2 seconds later. And when hanging out with villagers they will get stuck in place, eg: when I dig they just stand in the same spot, and won't move or give me drops until i go over and push them around a bit.

Issue: I unlocked the Lagoon, I went up the tangled wooden vine things to the top where there was a note. Once I clicked A to read it, the memory bubble got stuck in these plants and won’t let me pick it up. Any time I try, I get stuck and have to go to the map to travel elsewhere. This bug has happened a few times where I'm giving the character something, usually for a mission, in this case it was for Kristof's soap mission. The window pops up for the option to give the character the item or cancel it. I wasn't paying much attention to what I pressed the other couple times but I do remember this time I pressed "B" and then I realized that it was an option so I tried to click "Give" and it registered that I clicked it because the character then thanks me for giving them the item(s) but the pop up doesn't go away and I'm stuck. I try to click "Give", "Cancel", "-", and "+" but nothing happens I'm assuming because I've technically already gave it to them and I'm in a pop up so I can't open up the "-" and "+" windows. The only way I've found to be able to get out of this is to close the game and re-open it. Luckily I haven't lost any progress because of this issue, the auto save system saved me! lol_face
Not sure if this has already been reported or not, but I'd love to see this game fix the bugs it has because it's such a lovely game and there are quite a few bugs that still need squished! Keep working on it and I can't wait to continue playing and seeing this game progress ANikkiHype

I had the bug where the overlay remains and I'm forced to close the game. Upon restarting my game, it crashed on the loading screen.

As of today I have to start the game several times until it actually opens. It gets to the second loading screen (the one with the new winter art) and then crashes.

Game crashes when fast traveling to the valley from EI. Am able to take the boat and get to the castle, but trying to re-enter the valley from the castle also crashes the game. Issue started 12/22
Edit: clearing cache didn't fix the issue and the files are not corrupt
Edit 2: Removed a glitched object (a chest stuck in a tree) and issue was resolved

Not sure if this is the right spot for this, but I have lost HOURS of gameplay. I save religiously because of the crashes, and it's totally off. EVEN the cloud sync is wrong and off by days.

Issue: expansion related crashes after quest or game completion
Details: when I finish any quests related to eternity isle or a game of scramblecoin, the last screen in the interaction stays and you can’t do anything. When I handed back the ingredients for a quest, it left the “give items?” Prompt box up while giving the items and completing the quest; have to force restart. Same for winning games. It also makes a rapid clicking noise like scrolling through a menu to select something while this happens. (Apologies for no pic, the controller I use isn’t approved for recording the game)

after collecting puzzle pieces or. memories the game. i clicked too fast, the menu closes but the picture of the found shard is stuck.

Talking to villagers also end up in getting stuck without textboxes and them doing their animations.

Or when giving them quest items and the menu screen is still there and stuck as well.

I had this issue also, if you have any glitched objects of funiture in the area you are stuck in remove them then save then reopen and it might be fixed. I had glitched baths that i was hoping would auto fix. They did not and once I removed them I could travel the the dlc area which before I was crashing everytime i tried ot travel to the dlc area from my pc and switch. once that stuff was removed I was able to travel there again.

Froze five times today behind menu or dialog boxes. Happening at Remy’s, fast travel to eternity isle, giving items to npc’s for quests and selling at goofy’s stall. All required reset. For good measure I also reset the switch after because sometimes that helps but not today.

I am on Eternity Isle, have been since Christmas Eve, and cannot leave. Anytime I try to go to the Valley, whether by map or gate, it crashes. Doesn't matter if I'm alone, have someone hanging out with me, time of day, or if it's raining or not. It crashes.

Taking ages to load between areas. Also, similar to the Remy's Restaurant issue above, doing the first Vanessa quest and when I gave the items over, the confirmation screen stayed over the dialogue so I had to reload

After winning Scramblecoin against Eric (who gave bonus for a win), I saw the screen where my points increase, but as I was loading back into the over-world, my game crashed. Upon reloading, I've found my win did not count due to the crash.

When I open the map it sometimes takes a while for assets to fully load, however when I close the map whilst assets are still loading my character freezes, loses it's animation and refuses to pick up items or use tools.

Issue: game crashes when trying to travel to eternity isle..

Day number 3 that I cant acess the expansion. I tried go telport to diffrent areas on both platforms but no improvement. On the switch i get the unpexcteded error meassages and on the pc it just automatic closes without any warning.

I have over 500 hours in this game and never had any similar issue like this before . Its extremely frustrating that I cant access content that I paid for...twice

Switch crashes and issues. Everything still. Characters are glitchy, the game just freezes or crashes when going near my fields, when it rains, and going in and out of houses/buildings. If I'm in the customization furniture layout menu over 5-10mins when I close it the game crashes. It's been ridiculous since day 1 and I figured with all the updates and dlc it would've gotten better. But it's hard to play and get all the stuff when the game is always buggy and crashing.

I had my game crash yesterday when a visitor was coming over. After I reloaded my game I had lost HOURS of work. I had to redo a quest and lost over 7,500 mist. I meticulously save rather than relying on autosave and it tells me it’s saved and uploaded to the cloud yet I lost hours cuz it didn’t save and it crashed. This has been one of many crashes and by for the worst. Now I have a moonstone chest that says “you’ve already claimed your reward for day come back tomorrow” and I have no idea if that has anything to do with the crash I experienced.

I was successfully playing for about 30 minutes and went into Nala’s house to talk. I click A to talk and game was unresponsive. I stopped and close the software to reboot the game. The game loaded back in but my character was stuck in T pose. I try to dig and game was unresponsive. I closed the software and try to reload but now the game crashed on launch. What can I do?!

I am stuck on Eternity Isle. Can't exit and go back to my Valley without the game crashing. I can't finish the Star Path because of Valley specific duties (characters, pictures, fishing, etc...) .
Update:
I am now free! I was able to go back to my Valley! Saw someone on reddit mentionning that an item glitched and tested it out and it worked for me! So if you are stranded on Eternity Isle and your game keeps crashing when trying to go back to your main Valley, try removing all the Blue Speckled Path that you have on your Isle and it should do the trick! Maybe it would work for other bugs too?

Numerous Issues on Switch that seem to be getting worse:

Lag Time on 3rd scramblecoin move sometimes causes freezing and crashing

Design Tool - constant crashes on switch - unable to use

Fast Travel - large lag time and / or freezing and crashing

Rain - unable to do most things aside from fishing in the rain. Weather causes freezing, crashing, and also skipping of music in weather

Placing Path - freezes or crashes when you lay more than a few at a time.

Memories - occasional freezing when collecting memories

My character is stuck with her hand up... the only thing that is working is the toggle to see around and the home button. It is happening more frequently. First it was attempting to harvest and item now its whenever it wants. The background and other characters are moving around just fine. I however have to force a restart of the game. Today it has been 7 restarts.

Downloaded the hotfix and still can't get back ti my Valley from Eternity Isles. Exiting the Castle or trying to get there via the Well or fast traveling has crashed the game multiple times. I even removed the blue speckled paths and that changed nothing!

I’ve gotten stuck in these random poses multiple times in the last week & it keeps getting more frequent. I can still move around & interact with other characters & go in & out of buildings, but I can’t do anything else like garden, fish, mine. This happens randomly after closing out of the menu screen.

Also experiencing the fast travel bug. Menu is staying on screen and have to exit and restart the game. Has happened twice within half an hour, but does not happen every time I try to travel. So far it has happened when traveling from the Plaza to Forgotten Lands, and Plaza to Dazzle Beach, using the map, not the well.

I put down a lot of paths, and when I exited out of furniture mode, my game crashed. Upon reloading, only half of my pathing was saved and I had to redo the rest. This is not the first time my game has crashed after putting a lot of pathing down.

Issue: Hangs in furniture mode after putting paths down, and when attempting to close the game, it tries for about 30 seconds before crashing ("The software was closed because an error occurred").

It seems as though the Switch struggles a lot with putting paths down. It always lags, and more often than not will crash when putting a large amount of paths down in a single play session.

**SOMEONE HELP ME♡♡ After updating to Rift in time, and getting Eternity Isle. Everything was fine for about a week. Then all or a sudden I was in the Courtyard on Eternity Isle and I could NOT GET BACK TO MY OG VALLEY! I can't use wells OR the canoe. When I go to the canoe I can get into the disney castle, down the stairs but if I try EXITING the castle It instantly crashes. When I use wells to sunlit plates or any biome in the OG valley mu game crashes. The Eternity Isle update was so expensive, so I feel JIPPED. Plus I've written to game logt many times and ddv and they won't help me
So I'm praying someone on here has the issue and knows how to fix it. Or if anyone can relate just let me know !!!!

Green and blue gem path made from gems into Pathway was what was making it glitch for me. Someone on here helped me fix it. Once I removed that Pathway, the wells worked and so did the canoe. I can now go between eternity Isle and the regulat island and access everything again. I even got chests back from removing. Try that and see if that works.
