Issue: I recently bought the game on switch hoping to use cloud save but it won’t log in and says connection issues with cloud services

Switch: I have been unable to save to the cloud the past couple days. I had closed out game completely before playing.
Platform: PC (Xbox) only
Issue: It comes every time the message that my cloud storage can not be uploaded and also have difficulty to use the online service, as it is supposedly not possible!

Also tried on my PC (steam) with an ethernet connection. Internet is working fine and has plenty of bandwidth. I've not been able to connect since the update. attempting a reinstall today (15th sept.)
edit: reinstall made no difference.

Issue: the game refuses to save. Twice today I completed several quests and poured hours into the game with the new update. And as always I make sure to save the game before logging off, both local save and cloud save. But when I log back on, all of my progress (aside for the progress made on the star path) everything is gone and I have to start over like I never got onto the game today.

Issue: Cannot connect to online service on startup across launchers and devices for multiple days, with an otherwise solid and stable Internet connection . I tried a reinstall on my Steam Deck and resetting my router. I had had some connectivity issues on PC before but managed to do just fine on the Deck..

Follow up: it let me reset my password and even told me I had the wrong login credentials when I mistyped it. Still can't connect to server. Internet working fine otherwise, even reset the router.

Same problem here. Playing on Xbox One. Game will not connect even with a stable connection-no other games are having a connection issue. Has been a constant problem since the new update

Issue: Haven't been able to connect to online for over a week now, have done everything suggested to fix it and still doesn't work. Works fine on my switch.

Issue: saved both cloud and normally, closed the game. came back into the game an hour or so later and had lost 5+ hours of progress, (quests, dreamlight, star coins, collections, star path, resources, etc)
Before I quit the game on my Nintendo Switch, I tend to save on local & cloud. The next time I start the game, both options are available to load from. This happens every time & I don’t know why that is. Not necessary a problem as I just select cloud save (as it’s always more up to date).

Server problems.
When attempting to login to Cloud Saves, server errors along the lines of:
"Invalid Login Credentials" or "Trouble connecting, please wait a minute to try again."

When trying to use Cloud Save or access star path I am getting "Trouble connecting, please wait a minute to try again."
Internet and devices are fine and functioning aside from with this game, have been trying for 20 or so minutes and it's still continuing.

Game save is unable to upload to the cloud server. Saving to cloud takes a long time before failing.

Unable to connect to online services. I've rebooted my pc, closed & restarted my game, started my game without internet then reconnected to the internet, uninstalled & reinstalled the game, made sure to check my game files for integrity, used my phone as a hotspot, and everything else that could possibly be done. Nothing has worked & I haven't been able to cloud save or open blue chests for 10 days now.
Xbox one. And I have been having connection issues for a week
I’m on PC and Haven’t been able to connect to online services for 11 days. I’ve done everything that’s suggested with no luck.

Issue: Unable to Login to Cloud Saves, despite having the correct login information. (Cloud Save login works on multiple other platforms for me. It's the same account I use all the time) The game is not open/running anywhere else when I try to login.
Error Message: Login Error. "Failed to login with email because there is another account registered to it already"

Updated Sept 13th, Have not been able to access online services since. I'm unable to log into my account or save to the cloud. Same errors as everyone has been posting above.
I have uninstalled & reinstalled on my steamdeck & PC with no effect.
I installed a fresh copy on a device I'd never installed the game on before with no effect.
I have tried a wifi connection, Ethernet connection and mobile hotspot, all with no change - My internet is fine and all my other online games are working.
I have restarted my game, PC, steamdeck, router, phone, wifi boosters ... basically everything.
I sent in a support ticket on the 15th and had a reply on the 18th, which was basically "sorry this is happening, please try a wifi hotspot on your phone", which I responded to to say that didnt work for me. Yet to get any further response and I dont see this issue on the known issues trello board either.

Issue: Internet Connection issues and unable to login to access cloud save
Background: my old PC I used to play on died an untimely death a couple of weeks ago. I purchased a new PC and downloaded the game. All other devices and games have no issue with the internet connection but DDLV says it is unable to connect to the internet. When I try to login to access my cloud save I get the Online Services Unavailable message. I did try restarting and uninstalled and then reinstalled the game.

Issue: Continually receive online services unavailable error. When I try to connect I receive the message "Cannot connect to online services..." At some point the game does connect properly/as expected... only to again have the error later. I have confirmed the issue is not with my internet connectivity.

Issue: same as the 2 messages above, it says im offline and its unable to connect to the cloud, I tried resetting my password since I was disconnected and it said account do not exist.
Unable to connect. U guys need to get a head of this. Was not a issue till last patch. Want refund of star path if not able to complete in time. I have spent 4k moon

In my own effort to exhaust possibilities, I've reloaded the game, and gone so far as to clear my appdata folder. I no longer have the option to play from my last local save and still can't connect to servers.

Todays update: I installed the patch. made no difference. Still unable to connect to online services or cloud save. Haven't been able to play the game with online services since before the update on the 13th September. see previous post for more detailed info on what testing etc I have done already.
Update on mine: I have been having this issue since about a week or 2 before the patch. I submitted a ticket and was told it would need to be escalated to the technical team. When asked who I would get updates from I was told the investigation/maybe fix would take a whole patch cycle. :/

Issue: Game won't connect to online. Won't connect to cloud save unless I connect my computer to my hot spot on my phone. If I connect my switch to the wi-fi (not the hotspot) it will connect to just fine to my cloud save.

for some time the solution to this kind of issue has been "be on wifi" because for some absurd reason DDV didn't know how to function on ethernet to my router.
I've tried both, just for good measure. Still no dice.

Issue: even after the recent patch, STILL having "Unable to connect to online services" error. Internet is fine, other games work except for this. Instead of telling everyone to fix the issue by using VPN, maybe actually FIX this issue instead???
Update, only works to log in on mobile hotspot. Then can switch to hard wired. Once the game freezes and i have to restart, same issue again.
Even opened up all the ports through my router and everything. Nothing.
its absolutley stupid to tell us to login on a hotspot. Some of us dont have that ability FIX THE ISSUE!!!
I have submitted 2 tickets for this issue and even though I state in my overview that I have tried a hotspot they recommend trying that (like they aren't even reading and truly responding but using a form). It's like they are sweeping this problem under the rug. Despite them saying the team is working on it (and has no ETA for a fix) it's not on Trello at all. See previous post for everything I've tried
So my husband had a look at this for me and found that it is an MTU issue (network talk - He's a network architect) on their end.
To "fix your end" so that it will connect, Run command prompt as administrator, Type in the following and change the name in quotes to match your Ethernet or Wifi name (whichever connection you are using):
netsh interface ipv4 set interface "Ethernet" mtu=1450

Edit: This change will only work until you reboot your PC and is only for Windows PC's.
If the above command works for you, you can make the change persistent by running the following command:
netsh interface ipv4 set interface "Ethernet" mtu=1450 store=persistent
If it doesnt work you can just reboot your PC and it will revert to your original settings.

No problem. 🙂 He also found this setting on the steamdeck for me and sorted that but I dont know Linux too well so I'm not sure where it was other than in Desktop mode 😂

Platform: Switch Issue: game didn’t save. I played over 2 hours, completed Beast’s lvl 7 quest, did some decorating, in and out of Scrooge’s twice. I started a new Star Path duty and redeemed some tokens. I synced my Cloud Save and saved before exiting. The next time I went in (2 days later) everything was gone. Beast’s quest wasn’t complete, the decoration was gone, and the items I had purchased from Scrooge’s were missing. The incomplete Star Path duty was reset to 0, but my redeemed item was marked as claimed. I didn’t check to see if I still had it though.

Issue Been playing the game for over a year. Starting yesterday it wouldn't let me cloud save. Turned whole unit off/on. Even tried logging out, it won't let me!
I've had TWO problems with villagers at the moment.

Issue: I haven't been able to log in for two months due to a connection error with the game servers. I was logged in at the time and could play offline, but it seemed to be a file inconsistency problem. Therefore, after repeatedly checking file integrity, which did not help, I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I didn't know it would log me out of my account. Now I can't play because I can only log in to my account when the connection to the servers is working. I can't even provide my ID since I can't log in.

So I went into my routers settings and found the MTU settings and change them to what you said to change to see if that may work. That also did not work however, when I turned my computer off and turned it back on today It seems to have fixed itself. So I am unsure what had fixed it to begin with. *PLEASE I don't recommend anyone to just go into your routers settings unless you know what you're looking for. You'd have to contact your provider if you mess up anything.
I also want to include that I tried a few different option names when input the name in the command prompt and when I put "Wi-Fi" it gave me an "ok." Instead of the usual syntex name error.

I am trying to get my cloud save on a new console, I have tried everything I can, switching password, using Hotspot to log in, I have ensured I am logged out on the other console. Nothing seems to be helping
It's been a month for me. No fix, no progress reported. Yay

Just last week, I didn't have this issue, playing like normal, today, I hop on, and I launch and go to collect my dream snap stuff and am told I need to connect to cloud, I do so. But it did this. Assumed maybe visual bug. Hit continue, then it said connect to cloud again, and it's still doing this. I even changed my password thinking I forgot it and put it in and it still did this
Hi, I wasn't getting the red candy so they send me some in the mail but since then I have got no candy buckets at all and I can't submit my Dream Snaps photo or vote on any either, Is this a known problem as it just happened today! I can still cloud save though! Nintendo Switch user.
unable to load cloud save on Mac since last update.
PC Steam: Having issues with Cloud Save. Says I am not connected to internet but I am and can go to any web page but it's still not connecting to cloud save. Also my Event Tab says there is no Event now but this morning it was all fine.
Issue "resolved": I switched from CenturyLink back to Comcast and DDV connects again. The only mystery is why my Steam Deck version worked on CenturyLink for a while.

Issue: I’m trying to claim the candy in the mailbox but it won’t let me unless i’m logged into my cloud save. I tried to but it keeps showing two different saves and my local save it the most up to date one i use.

I am trying to get my cloud save to work. I have tried on both my laptop and my Xbox and neither is letting me sign in. I loaded my cloud save just fine when I got it back on the Xbox.

Platform: Laptop, Steam. Issue: Online service unavailable. I used to play it on the same device, and no problem occurred. I uninstalled it and just installed it again a couple days ago. And until now, cannot connect to online service or cloud save.

My game used a cloud update from 29 days ago, how do I get my save from yesterday?
I forgot to cloud save on my Xbox, so when I loaded the game on my PC the cloud save option was there but I force closed the game so when I opened it again on Xbox it was an old save from way before Halloween or even before I redecorated my plaza. Please any help would be appreciated

Been having problems saving to my cloud says it saves but then I go back in and it says it hasn't saved in over a day or so yet I just saved also the same problem that everyone else is having I have had but only 1 time
Platform: Switch Issue: After playing for an hour and making progress on various quests, I manually saved to both my cloud and locally on the system. When I returned to the game later that day, most of my progress was lost. The cloud menu said "Last Sync was 7 days ago" and my local save was reverted back to before I completed the quests, losing about 45 minuets of progress. Unsure why the cloud save failed, and unsure why my local save and auto-saves did not work either. This is the first time I have enountered such a bug on Switch. Note: My issue was resolved by moving my game from SD storage to Internal storage.
