I fixed it: restart PC, open xbox app, go to downloads. Click retry from downloads list, don't launch the game

Hi @hollow compass - I’m getting a Trojan Wacatac error after updating on Steam, says I’m missing an executable, can’t launch the game.

When updating as it finished it said "error". I unistalled and reinstalled from scratch and I am still getting error at the end of download. Will not let me complete download on PC.
Update: fixed with the above help after a restart. Thank you

Platform: PC/Steam - I updated the game this morning and played with no problem. I started to play about an hour ago and the game crashed. I am receiving the same Trojan Wacatac error. Also it's showing a program having been downloaded: Steamworks Common Redistributables and I don't recall ever seeing that before. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalled DDV. I've cleared the local files and all followed all instructions from Steam and still cannot play the game.

Loading screens take over 5 minutes and the music sounds staticy and graphics are horrendous. I’ve restarted and checked to make sure it not an issue with my computer. Even uninstalled and reinstalled the game with no change.

Issue: game crashed when i entered cooking mode, it froze for about 5 minutes and then i got the "end process" dialogue. then i tried to reopen it and it froze on the collection tab, only this time the end proccess thing didn't work and neither did task manager and the windows key. i had to forcefully shut down my laptop. it's completely unplayable now

When I went to claim dreamlight for completing one of the main dreamlight duties (collecting so many topazes) the game crashed on the screen where you get the Dreamlight. I clicked Continue a few times but it didn't do anything.

Not any crashes but I keep getting seriously bad lag spikes at random points for no reason, this has happened before for weeks on end then it fixes itself, then goes back... I've tried all the suggestions to fix it but nothing's worked, please fix!!!

Redownloaded the game on Game Pass, no issues whatsoever. Not sure what's wrong with the Steam download?

Similar. I uninstalled it last night after the messages about the Trojan. This morning, reinstalled and it's working fine and I am still through Steam, so maybe someone caught the issue and fixed it?

we did a fresh windows installation, but its still happening after.

Platform steam. I have virus notifications as well. I can load completely but once I appear in front of my house I can’t do anything. I’m stuck it reminds me of the walking glitch except I’m paralyzed, not able to have the menus show up I can’t do anything but force quit.

Crash when exiting furniture mode. The little save symbol rotates endlessly, flashing. I have to force quit. This happened like four times.

What I have noticed since playing on both platforms. No matter how many times I restart or even try to force quit. The game crashes within a couple mins of playing. Usually when moving furniture or sometimes just extremely random.

Ok, this is getting rather annoying now, it is something I have reported before but it is getting worse, this is the 5th time it has happened ro me today, the game crashes nearly everytime I serve in the restaurant, I have recently upgraded my pc & thought it would fix the game (as I thought it could be pc issue) but it has become apparent that it must be a game issue as my new gaming ram & hard drive have made my pc work so well with every thing except this game, it crashing more & more frequently. Bug: When visiting the Frozen Realm if I haven't already completed the realm quests, the game crashes when I'm returning Bruni to Anna. It happens every time I even enter the realm to try and finish that objective off after crashing the first time when I first caught Bruni and tried to return him to Anna.

Did you ever get a fix for this? Because mine is doing the same thing on Steam. I went a did a big sweep of my computer and cleaned stuff out, I uninstalled and re installed DLV and it still will not work.
