My storage rooms! It was taking forever to craft chests before I realized scrooges money bank was actual storage so I just bought a bunch of them 😅

I'm kinda proud of my storage room, since it's the only room I've fully decorated. I'm working towards creating the white and gold large chests, so they match the walls.

I have a few different styles of storage besides my main. I have an "attic" for build items I own but don't want in my build menu, then I have a display room for cool or unique items I want to save. My main storage room has room for everything else - no labels but I know where everything is. In general, flowers and fish on the right, crafting and food on left, all the fruits along the back, gems and shards in the front corner

Mine isn’t fancy but I can’t keep up with what realm things come from so I sort them by rainbow color. All my plants are sorted red first, then orange, etc. I do that for my veggies too. Then I make the custom signs to help me out.

I love the aesthetic of his, but it's too busy for me. The Gyazo I shared is just one of my storage rooms. I've been grinding for dreamlight to make those white chests, because I love the white and gold look.

So pics of my storage. Outdoor crafting is by type, using colored chests and signs to help me differentiate.
Flowers are sorted by color instead of biome, because it's a lot easier to find them when a fave gift says "blue marsh milkweed" then i can just go to the blue box vs looking up what biome it's from. Then I have seeds sorted by biome, because I used to sell seeds but now I use them to help me know what biome I need to go to if I need something specific (mostly star path related).

Indoors-- Kitchen is being remodeled, so no pics of that. It used to be cute but getting colored chests of different sizes changed the game with that.

Fish storage is assorted by bubble color. Red chest = crustaceans and brown chest means outside bubbles. Then I have my algae and red algae in a fish tank and blobfish in a fish tank.

Gem storage is in rainbow order, with the shiny and regular variant per safe. Diamonds and onyx in the middle since they only have 1 unique display. The 2 brown chests house my pink and black dreamlight shard things.

I am currently looking for a new method for the gem room, because until they decide to add a "sort all to similar chests" button, then it's pretty tedious running to each individual one and making sure I dont accidentally pick up the gem.

Thank you! I'm a bit of a nut, even when you open my chests, things are organized in there very efficiently. Like if I have 3 of an item it's 2rows-2rows-2rows, or 4 things will be 2columns-2columns-2columns-2columns of each item

My flower storage is still a WIP, due to having to grind for softwood to make chests and tables, but I'll share pictures anyway 🙂

The original flower storage room was getting crowded (no thanks to certain large blooms from the Sunlit Plateau) so my flower storage kinda....spilled out into the main room.

Oh...kay, important tip: 🥴
if you're gonna use countertops for organizing flowers, don't use the L-shaped ones the way I did in the above photos ⬆️
the thing's footprint on the inverse side blocks you from accessing your wooden storage chests
I had to change the tables these flowers were sitting on
had to move a few flowers because I discovered that when I place some of the chests, they would be blocking others 🤦‍♀️

Specifically flowers, and just starting this method off. I like this better than two large chests split by worth. I can clearly see what I’m low on and where to get it. Since other stuff like gems, fish, and crafting material is multi-biome I’ll probably just stick to flowers for this idea. It could be cool to do this outside and decorate it like a greenhouse area, along with seeds/ingredients since those are biome-specific also.

Finally finished my main flower storage room. It feels great to have a place to dump them that can hold more than 50 of each blossom.

I've started building rooms to house cooking ingredients
for now, I've finished storing all herbs & sugarcane
I discovered certain objects, such as Dreamlight Fruit, absolutely refuse to sit on any tables, which I find somewhat annoying, but I've adapted
in my flower rooms, I'd originally wanted green chests, so I've been making green storage chests whenever I can, emptying the brown chests I am switching out, and storing the flowers in new green ones
the brown chests I free up are going into these new storage rooms, although, I would like to eventually use white chests for this room

Doing work on my fish storage room. It's nice that the fish only take up a 1x2 tile footprint, so I was able to utilize the kitchen counters for this 🙂 I plan on putting the shellfish onto a counter island in the center, and all the fish have their own storage chests, though crafting those is taking time. Scrooge also has a limit on how many items you can order from his store each day 😔, so I'll have to wait until tonight to get enough countertops. I'm hoping to eventually get that pretty underwater wallpaper I've seen others use. It would be perfect for this room 😄 In honor of the fish/water theme I'll use blue chests for them.

This is my "Building Materials" storage room. As you can see in the photos, 3 items absolutely refuse to be put on tables or countertops; (the Rusted Parts, Glass Vials, and Holiday Wrapping Paper), so I just plunked them on the floor for now. The room's still a WIP, since the chests are a tad mismatched. I'm wondering if I should use a different color storange chest than brown, like yellow or something 🤔. It would be nice to free up some of those blue chests for the Fish Room.

My workshop (crafting materials and flowers), pantry (crops and forage, products from Remy's in the fridge), and treasury (gems, crystals and metals). I'd love to color code the chests somehow, but I crafted all these chests before the colorful ones were available and I can't bear the thought of the dreamlight and dark wood it would take to remake all those chests. And of course safes in the treasury, though I'd love a bit more storage space...

Most of the foods are in large chests with 2 veg/fruit per chest. I also only keep 100 of each flower.

I've moved all my storage out of my primary house and started using Eric's ship as a cargo vessel. All the crops in the kitchen, gems in Eric's office for safekeeping, a cargo hold... and flowers and a couch in the front room because IDK what else to do with it lol. And my pirate outfit bc I'm trying to leave thematically appropriate outfits in my houses when I've got one.

some of these resources look a little silly stuck on the floor

My 4th floor has become a major storage area, complete with 4 special storage rooms.
the "hub" is here, and designed to look like a kitchen, of sorts (finally found a use for that Ratatouille fancy blue stove)
I finally have a place to store all the extra stuff that can't be gathered in the valley, but can be bought from Remy at his restaurant
also found a spot to store both my normal eggs and the Easter ones for next year
the only annoying resource that refuses to sit on any tables is the bag of coffee beans
(the coffee didn't qualify as "fruit," so that's why it's out in here)

I had some fun with this room 🙂
it stores (if you're going in a clockwise circle starting at the door) my dreamlight fruit, my herbs, my grains, and my fruit that's been gathered in the valley
I even put fake fruit on the counters for decoration 😉
with the exception of the grains & dreamlight fruit, the herbs and fruit stored in here are in alphabetical order

It took me some time to figure out the layout and decoration style of this room,
but it was important because it stores all my vegetables and mushrooms
I'm considering storing my seeds in here, though it might more practical to store them outside the house.
I'm currently in the process of growing 100 of each vegetable in the plaza, but I have to do it one crop at a time.
The veggies in here are stored in alphabetical order too 🙂

I didn't realize I hadn't updated anyone on this room, so I'll show what the [almost] finished product looks like 😃
all I'm missing now is that beautiful, underwater wallpaper that Scrooge refuses to give up right now in his store 😒
for anyone that's curious about Pudge on the carpet, I had only two fish to choose from for the carpet's design, and Dory blended into the blue water too much 😔
Anyway, I now have all the fish arranged nice and neat, they each have a blue chest, and all the shellfish (with the exception of the Christmas Fish) are in the middle
all the fish [that aren't in the middle] are in alphabetical order too 😁
I had some fun adding the stingray sculpture that hangs from the ceiling

Here are some more up-close images of the organization. Some of these fish, I have more than others, so some have larger chests than the others.
the arrangement caused me to end up with empty counter space, so that's why I put nautical-themed decor and lamps in the corners 🙂

I’m curious to know what’s everyone done with their storage? I’ve started to create rooms in each house in each biome for storage of that particular biome. But then I have my main home that’s the hub and has every item in it! But then I have that darn universal storage chest that I have heaps of… and I don’t know what to put in it. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Feeling super confused!! What’s in your universal storage chest? 🤔

I don't use the universal storage chest. I have my kitchen where I put my fruits, vegetables, fish etc and then I have a storage room with a lot of cabinets. 2 for wood, one for each biome for the flowers, 3 for gems (one for the normal one and one for the shiny ones and one for dreamlight and stuff) and so on. Also put two boxes in front of WALL-E garden so I can put it right there after farming it.

You drop them from your inventory then move them in furniture mode. Some objects are fussy and don't like to go on surfaces but many will!

Main Floor: (From the Valley)
Main room - craft items (iron, gold, pebbles, etc.)
Right room - food items
Back room - all gems (DLC + valley, each gem+shiny gets it's own vault)
Left room - aquarium (I use the aquariums to store my fish and will have 4 stacks of each fish total max)

Floor 2: (DLC)
Main room - right now only has a chest with bronze in it
Left room - all flowers (DLC + valley, max 2 stacks per flower)
Right room - dlc food items

I divided it into sections, so I can easily dump stuff collected in particular area.
DLC section still needs some work. This layout seemed for me the most logical - it was not easy since some of the flowers take different amount of space on the table.

Heavy Wooden Table - you can craft those (costs 20 Softwood) and they are the same size as grid, so they are great for long displays - since there is no space between them.

Oh it's very simple:

• It's usually recommended you use your main house, because otherwise, if you use separate house skins to make extra homes in other biomes, the houses are not connected inside. Using your main house is great, because you can access it in either the Valley or Eternity Isle, depending on whether you bought the expansion or not.
• set aside rooms for you to enjoy yourself in, just like a normal house 🙂
• then set aside separate rooms on other floors for storage only; it costs [in-game] money, but it's well worth it
• like on my first floor, I have kitchen, dining room, living room, sewing room, and a crafting room
• on my second floor, I have a reading area, my bedroom, ||the Forgotten's bedroom||, and a bathroom
  all other floors have storage rooms

Make use of those special chests. They only come in dark brown and light brown, but no matter how many you place on the map, all have the same inventory, allowing you to access the same items anywhere on the map. You can always buy more from Scrooge. I always put one in every biome, and one in every storage room I have.

A while back, I also would set up ordinary chests in the various biomes, so that I had a place to dump things like herbs, flowers, and crops, until I could get back and transfer them to the special chests.

Another tip: stock up on Softwood and Stone. You're gonna need them for the basic chests. If you're really committed to making the larger capacity chests later on, or the colorful ones, stock up on hardwood, specific flowers, iron, gold, and dark wood.

One reason I have rooms for storing specific items in my house is because one room simply wasn't enough. Plus, some of these crafting recipes ask for sometimes up to 100 of some item, and often I didn't have it. The separate storage rooms solved that problem 🙂

Oh, you mean on display? That rarely happens. I'll buy one if I see it, but you have better luck if you talk to Scrooge.
When you see the dialog menu for him, choose the one that says "I'd like to order some items." Choose "Furniture," and you can buy duplicates of anything you already have, and he has some simple, generic stuff at the start too. He also sells clothes you can order, but that group is very small and not as fun as what's on display.

I'm slowly working on a storage room for all the Atlantean and time-based goodies I've been finding with my staff. The Atlantean theme inspired me to do the black counters and dark blue, starry night sky look for the room.
The project is slow-going because I keep running out of soft wood and rocks to build simple chests, but I'm a patient person and am working my way through it. All my mining buddies in the valley have been a huge help 😁

I've chosen to store 10 special Time-Bending items out here, considering they wouldn't quite fit in the blue room. Still need to make chests for them (and even to collect at least one of each) but things are coming along well 🙂

So I'll start with the Gemstone/Mineral room 🙂
Had to angle the camera so you can see the minerals that stubbornly stay on the floor and refuse to sit on tables/counters

I'm storing fragments of artifacts from Timebending, because honestly they wouldn't fit in my main Timebending storage room 🤭
I've even been able to reconstruct a few of them, though it's not easy getting enough Glimmer

Here's my Flower Room. I took inspiration from my first flower room #1105146158021611631 message with the jungle walls and Turning Red windows. It was nice to find use for the Turning Red lanterns 🙂
I think I might have made it too big, or perhaps should have put some of these in the middle 🤔
I went on a tan, Arendellian décor kick with some of these rooms
I might come back and make green chests to replace these, but for now, the plain ones are okay 🙂

Floor 6 (and my last storage floor) is much simpler in design. I don't come up here as often, so I go by the mantra of "simpler is better" for this room.

I call this my "Miscellaneous Room" because it has items that don't quite fit into other storage rooms, so they're all kinda stuck together in here. That, and it's the smallest storage room I've ever made. I store things like meat, scorpions, and other interesting assorted stuff from Eternity Isle that don't match with the other rooms, and my first storage rooms have no extra room for.

Normally one doesn't associate fish with the colors gold or tan, but many of the ones found in here don't come from the ocean. (Plus I already have a blue fish room #spoiler-chat message). So I kinda took inspiration from the Glittering Dunes mixed with water themes (like the scales on the walls) for this room. And like I said, I had a minor addiction to the Arendellian counters for a short time 🤭
And yes, the fish are in alphabetical order. I'm weird like that when storing fish or farming produce 😊

I only allow myself to keep two rows of all the items that can go in the storage chests (I use the largest available) It's much more manageable! It helps me keep track of how much I have of each item.

If you don't want to downsize, that's completely understandable. We all enjoy playing in our own way! I love organizing in'game and IRL, so this is one of my fav. things to do, lol!

To start, pick up all of one item, store it, and go from there! All the gems can go in one chest, all the stick types in another, etc.! I keep things like clay, sand, and snowballs in one box-two rows each. Each biome has a chest for it's garden foods and spices...I could go all day 😅

Hello... which one are you talking about? Most of the items are just decorations. The gems are on counters/tables (only 2 slots), they aren't chests. I keep my gems in the 2 boxes in the middle. Sorted by color: left is the blues, greens, blacks and whites, right for reds, yellows, pinks, oranges since I have too many gems now. The safe at the side I put my shards, crystals etc.

This is a really nice, basic setup I'm doing for starting out my Storybook Vale storage rooms.
As I go along in play, I'll modify the rooms and pretty them up over time 🙂
I'll do this for the extra floor I also set aside for Storybook Vale stuff (my 8th and 9th floors, respectively).

I don’t do full boxes for food - those are easy enough to get when you need them so I only keep a stack of those around. Everything else has 1-3 rows in a large treasure chest, except for wood and shards, which have full large chests. If we could sell shards I’d have a lot fewer of them in my stash lol

But it is definitely helpful when I want to do a lot of crafting!

Took me a few days but I redid my entire storage house to fit all of the new expansion's items as well as the previous one. This will be a multi-post showcase. Bubbles are a life changer. Here's the main room filled with commonly used items.

The crafting room. Lots of room for future items too.

The greenhouse. Flowers fit nicely if you arrange them by colour with one spare chest against the wall for future need, though I may add seeds here.

And finally, the kitchen. Probably the longest one to figure out from of all of the rooms. Bubbles were difficult to utilize here from the amount, but they are sorted alphabetically by what type of ingredient are, save for a few exceptions (Ex. I placed corn as a vegetable instead of grain). I'll have to figure out what I'm going to do when we get even more ingredients since this doesn't have much wiggle room for more. Bubbles may make the sorting easier in the future.

Yup! The Display Bubble and the Small Display Bubble can stack over each other right over a chest. I put my chests slightly forward so I don't accidentally grab the items stored in the lower bubble.

It's a 1x1 item space for items inside the bubbles, but most items work within them

Just keep it simple, each of my biomes get a blue chest for fish / seaweed and a Green chest for Flowers/spices/Gardened veggies etc.

I keep Gems in a White box at home typically and throw any wood I pick up into a Red box

But it took a whole MONTH to finish everyone since || Toy Story || came out to finish all the characters

And THEN I focus on my valley.

Also for those who have future questions for Gardening and storage you can try your house for your rooms or if you want to store seeds —I make a garden for each of the biomes and make the || Vintage Brown Storage || bin you get when you first get the house. Bc you don’t have to buy more and more seeds. They are always there when you have a garden.

You can also make those bins as well btw

This fully depends on how much of each item you have. I used to be able to fit my entire storage in 6 large chests but now I need 3 rooms of at least 20 chests.

I like to keep a nice supply of each n just stock up. N then sell stuff in bulk when I need the coins n space. I have the bigger chests, but I still feel like that’s not enough room sometimes. That being said, Storybook Vale does have a recipe for display bubbles with small bubbles holding 1 item and large bubbles holding 4! I was considering replacing my storage countertop displays with bubbles but i dont have enough opal to make many of them yet.

Just click to put back into inventory

When you find where you wish to place them- open inventory
Place said chests

You'll see a little marker on the item { it's top left - little box with a down arrow - if you place one. Then check that marker, it will disappear once you have placed all chests which have items in.

Then you can sort the storage as you wish

My main room has 9 chests besides the shared chest: fruit, veggies, spices, 2 for fish/seafood, fridge for "cold" food items, coal, and snippits.
My storage room: flowers are on the left organized by color. The back wall is digging/mining things that aren't crystals. Fhe right wall is crystals, organized by misc, shinies, diamond shaped, oval shaped, gold, then misc stuff from time bending, and misc stuff from events like buttons, eggs, shamrocks, etc

My storage island I designed it to be able to add as we get new resources. I do have rooms on my main floor that have a fish storage/fruit storage and all the limited items from events and potions.

Yes I do! I have all mine in individual chest right next to each plot I have them growing in. I put them into rainbow order the best I could. I also have all my gems in rainbow order along with my foraging ingredients and flowers. Just about everything I can.

there's a click after pressing r that stops it happening! (But now all my chests are organised like that so less urge to press R!)

Decided to update my flower storage with the new starpath items and I love it! The other mannequin will wear the Leafy Fairy outfit (and look like Tinkerbell) when I unlock the last items from the starpath!💚

This is Forages, trees/bushes, and store bought like cheese and milk island
Eventually the daisy storages will be max size chests but gotta get more dreamlight aha

Looks wonderful!!! Not sure if you know but the marketplace large chest you get from Aladdin’s level 10 quest is max storage and doesn’t cost Dreamlight to make and it’s pretty.

@hallow lava I have a question I seen your storage containers there how did u put the bubbles on top with the stuff in them

They are the elevated bubbles you craft. They are in the furniture section of the crafting station. The small bubbles are only 1x1 and the large ones are 2x2. I hope that was able to answer your question. Oh and most things you can just drop from your inventory then go into furniture mode and move them into the bubbles.
