EDIT: After finishing The Great Blizzard questline, placing the mini-casita and getting Mirabel to friendship level 4, my ability to feed critters has returned.

Platform PC: I get a strange menu up when clicking the critters to feed them. I can't see my inventory like it was when feeding them before. It seems to be sort of icons like eat (cloud) etc almost as when we hover over a dish or plant to eat ourselves. So now I can't feed critters as it is.
As of now I have not started any of the new missions/quests.

Edit: user @nimble spear on PC said that after they finished the Blizzard quest, Did the Mini-Casita starter quest, got Mirabel and leveled Mirabel to lol 4, they were able feed their critters again. Tried it and it worked! I can now feed the critters again!

I was having this same issue. So just for kicks I went and moved Mirabels house a little and saved the game again and now I can feed the critters again. Try it!

Not sure if I can post this here, but I had the issue of being unable to feed any critters. Tried everything to fix it and nothing worked. Finally decided to reset (clear) the cache on my Switch…and IT WORKED!! Please make sure you save your game before trying this, although it should not affect any game data.

If you made the training books and put them in inventory, it won't let you feed animals. Take them out and put them in a chest and you will be able to feed them again. IT IS a GLITCH, I took mine out and put them in chest and it worked, put 1 back in my inventory and couldn't feed the animals again. THE PROBLEM IS THE TRAINING books< hth

Issue: Companions near the doorway can soft lock the game when trying to exit.

Experienced this only in the player's house, can't speak to whether it happens elsewhere. A companion positioned near the doorway can result in the player character getting stuck in the walk animation after pressing the key/button to exit. Sometimes it resolves after a brief pause and you exit, sometimes it completely locks the game; can't open menus, can't interact with anything, have to Alt+F4 to kill the game.

Another alternative fix to not being able to feed critters (the inventory fix that people have mentioned) would be to get Mirabel to friendship lvl 2, doing that made it so I could feed all the critters again.

Was able to feed critters on both consoles on the newest update until I started the Meddling Mirabel quest. I tried rolling back my save file by going on the my switch and choosing to use the local file, which undid leveling her up to 7 and back to before I started the quest, and uploading the save file from the switch. Unfortunately that did not fix the issue and it is still present on PC and now on the Switch even though the switch has not loaded the save file from the cloud at all.

I’ve now reviewed about 7 guides and it seems like the 2 pieces you need to dig up always appear in the same places but the other two spawn randomly. I’m missing one of the ones you can just pick up. I’ve run the beach about 15 times, dug up everything, looked in every location other people are finding the pieces, and I even tried fishing to see if I would get a piece that way but no luck

Update: Today I was able to feed my critters and I don't know why. I could not yesterday. I had tried to empty inventory approach a couple days ago and that didn't fix it. I did craft the guide books on day 1 of the update but immediately put them a chest. I have never carried them around nor gifted them to anyone. I finished all of Olaf's quests first before starting on Mirabel's. I still had the greyed out veggie icon in the bottom right corner when I tried to give blueberries to the raccoons for the Mirabel quest BUT I was able to do it. After that, I was able to feed all of the other critters without issue. I will report back only if the issue returns.

Mirabel is a unmoveable statue when hanging out. She's blocked me from moving multiple times and can't be shunted out of the way. Even picture mode doesn't make her move. She's moved a couple of times when I've told her to stop hanging out, otherwise just relogging stops it.

Update for some reason I was able to feed critters yesterday for the first time since the update. I don’t know why but I suspect it might have something to do with progression in one of the new quests, perhaps Mirabel’s? ||I think before I had picked up the door knob and talked to Merlin and he gave me a list of things to do. Yesterday I had completed all those things so I wonder if that was it.||

I’ve been feeding them 5-star meals (always Arendellian Pickled Herring) once a day, but none of them have been added to my companion list, nor have they been recorded in the collection tab. I can understand if I’ve miscounted the other ravens but I know for a fact that I’ve fed the Classic Raven about 5-6 times and the White Raven about 4-5 times now since they’re the ones who visit most often. I saw on a guide that it takes about 2 to 3 times with the same 5-star meal to befriend them. Every other critter is working properly and I’m slowly befriending all of them but for some reason the ravens just aren’t budging.

I am having a issue with getting Eric tethered to me. He agrees when I ask, then says, see ya rofl. I can get all my companions but him. The critters are a problem at times… sometimes when I approach, the option to give them food or treats do not come up. Issue: I can't feed the turtles, my inventory doesn't even show up. I've had this issue for several days and with different colored turtles

issue: i guess this is still happening. can't get past companions, even after dismissing them. it took a good 5~8 minutes before he realised he could walk >.<
(i didn't want to relog, and since it's inside, i couldn't teleport)

Platform: PC (Steam Deck). Issue: Critter (Classic Fox) not adding to collection after feeding favorite food many times. I read on the Trello board it takes a varying amount, but it has been ~6 times and I’m starting to think it should have worked.

Issue: I've submitted a support ticket about this as well, but yesterday morning I unlocked the Classic Fox companion (had it equipped and everything). The next day when I booted up the game, it was no longer in my wardrobe as an equippable option, nor does it show as collected in my collection tab. I got both the blue fox and the classic fox at roughly the same time, and the blue fox is still collected. My save appears to still be up to date in every other way, and no other progress was lost as far as I could tell.
