I am stuck here while trying to exit. On Switch. It won't react to me pressing ANY buttons.
EDIT: found a fix...sorta..use the touchscreen on Switch to hit the menu to Save, then hit your backpack with the touch screen a couple times to turn around. Don't turn to leave again immediately cause you'll get stuck again. Run around the house or wherever you're at and then try to leave again.

I use a ps4 controller on Steam and other games and Steam settings recognize this, just Dreamlight Valley doesn't. If it does matter, I originally created my account on XBox Game Pass trial and then migrated it to Steam when I bought the game there.

Issue: UI controller does not match controller plugged in. Using the Xbox ABXY layout rather than the Playstation X,O,Sq,Tri. Steam Controller is set to Playstation Configuration. Game does respond as expected for the controller in use otherwise, just display is incorrect.

Issue: The buttons seem so delayed. Looking at menus, scrolling through items, or talking to characters. I had to press A several times on things for it to register. Scrolling through any menus is sensitive when it decides to finally move. Had to stop playing because it was causing anxiety.

When levelling up via daily discussion or giving a quest item, the overlay of the give item/ character level-up does not disappear. The character will acknowledge the giving of the item, or will restart the daily discussion. I cannot progress further than the first text box due to the overlay being open still, I cannot do anything and am stuck, but the game isn't frozen. I have tried various buttons, including escape, but the only work-around I have found at the moment is totally shutting down the game via Alt-F4 or Task Manager. I did try to submit this via the online form twice today but it wont let me
EDIT: Also happened with the Buying more tokens, so I'll copy this into another issue chain. Aaaand also happened when trying to claim a reward from the star path

The game does not freeze but I cannot open menus, save, etc. I cannot press E or use my mouse to exit. I am able to click out of the game and back into the game but it does not fix. Issue: Can no longer drag items from your personal inventory to any storage chest. Selecting transfer to send it over, and THEN moving it around within the chest still works. In the same regard, when you had an almost full stack of something in a chest (and the chest has no empty spots) and a partial stack in your inventory that is more than the amount remaining on the stack in the chest, selecting transfer would say the chest is full, but you would still be able to manually drag say, 20 carrots from your inventory to a stack of 40 carrots in a chest, and it would add 10 of those to the chest to complete a stack of 50, and send the remaining 10 carrots back to your inventory. But this is no longer possible since the update.

Issue: Hate to post on here again but the UI is frozen on my screen. I pressed the 'X', escape, nothing. This is just one of the many UIs that can get stuck on your screen and make you restart your whole game to fix it. Hope this helps!

Sometimes when I switch from the map to my dreamlight-quest tab and back to map, the map is totally broken (just shows my char maybe 1/2 other chars the rest is blue) and I'm stuck at this screen again.
Only resolution is to quite the whole game and restart it. Quite annoying since it happened more than 5 times last night and now it's happening again and I didn't played that long yet :/

Only triggered by the map, all other menus are fine.

Doesn’t happen every time, but frequent enough that I’ve had to stop using the map for travelling, so very inconvenient.

When I open the map and move the cursor over a well, instead of the ring snapping tight over the well, it disappears and pressing x doesn’t take you to that well (you just stay on the map).

Sometimes you can move the cursor away, but often ⭕️ button doesn’t exit the map/menu like it should.

Button mashing can sometimes get you out, sometimes not.

Trying the map again can yield a blank screen like in your shot, in which case you end up totally frozen and have to close the game completely and go back in.

Very annoying, but first glitch I’ve ever had on PS5 and played daily since release.

I was looking for Minnie Mouse on the map but she didn't show up, but when I exited the map and reopened it, this is what happened. I can move around the map with my controller and mouse and click between the top parts (that's why settings is highlighted), but I can't exit the map at all.

This! The quest list is stuck and can't navigate/scroll or track quests anymore.

EDIT: Solved it by completing the pinned quest. Maybe it happens when you have too many quests active at the same time?

Issue: I went to add another room to my house, and it worked. Unfortunately, after I had finished, the prompt for adding a room never went away.

Edit: so I restarted my game and immediately had a second UI issue that I believe is related to the first one. Unfortunately, I cannot send another message for an hour, so I'm just going to edit this one.
Issue: while I was unable to do anything in my game (due to the pop up not going away,) I was hanging out with Donald duck. During that time, I completed the star path duty of hanging out with him for an hour. When I reloaded my game, I claimed the reward for doing so. The little orange notification dot didn't go away after doing so. Now, there is nothing I can do to make the little orange dot go away (without closing and reopening the game.) I tried clicking on all of the duties, closing and reopening the page, completing a different duty, and buying an event reward. Eventually, I caved and reloaded the game, and that worked.

Issue: Unable to interact with quest menu. Can’t scroll or track/untrack through the quest menu screen. When a quest alert pops up on the overworld, I can click track to switch to it. Happened yesterday but resolved itself, though I don’t know how/why. Then it happened again today after a crash.

Issue: Outdoor flora is showing up greyed out and when you hover over the item it shows up as 'indoor only'. When I click on the item I can still 'summon' it even though it shows up in the menu as 'unavailable'.

UPDATE: The items that would be greyed out change and vary in different categories of outdoor items as I continue to put more and more flora down.

Issue: I was decorating my valley and then, randomly after I put 'Peaceful meadow greenery', my game 'kind of' crashed. See video attached I can move the camera around but I cannot click on anything. Nor can I 'esc' or any other button to get out of the menu. Force restarting my game proceeded to lose ALL of my progress. Now my counter for my allotted items is stuck to how many items I had placed previously before my game crashed even though I lost all of my progress.

Issue: When is this UI issue going to be fixed? This seems to be an ongoing random issue where fast travel/realms from maps or memories (after collection of an orb) will get stuck on the screen when backing out to continue playing the game. This is a very nice memory, but I just lost the chance for extra pumpkins with Wall-e since I just finished harvesting a 10 x 10 and did not get a chance to release him to spawn more. I now have to alt+f4 as it's the only way out

Upon starting I updated my cloud save and all was fine. After playing for a while, my screen is showing services offline, and I can not open any moon chests, which also continue to make a shaking noise long after walking away. I have restarted and it is still not opening or showing that it is connecting. Switch shows it is online and running fine. I can also access other online features, just not this. So I can not collect my moonstones.
